A Tribute from Pastor Chris Sumade Lambo

HOME AT LAST

Hummm! Egbon mi Theo, So! Just like that; you have now become citizen of heaven where all around is peaceful and serene. Where angels are now your companions, the Saints now your congregants and friends. You have gained death to travel through the road where the elderly, the older ones, the aged used to travelled. At the crossroad along the journey, you turned to the right hand side where the Saints passes through.

The earthly concerns and struggles are now things of the past as you have now turned your mortality status for immortality when you changed your address to eternal home where tears, sorrow, pains, and sadness are no more for you.

Painful though that we will not have you around with us here anymore to gain wisdom, knowledge and to look up to and yet still blame you every time for everything just because you were the head of Ladunjoye Lambo's dynasty hummm.

But we know now that you are with your maker whom you served faithfully and diligently at such an advanced age when you should have been resting as if you new time wasn't on your side to cover up the lost ground after your realization of your purpose for life while you were on earth. You had the opportunity to finished your race well and strong and you didn't allow that opportunity to slipped of your hands. You got it right. Yes! you did. The enemies couldn't stop you. A selfless and focused minister of God, highly intelligent, a workaholic even through the depth of the night. Blunt and frank defending the heritage of our ancestors.

We shall be less than honest if we say that our heart is not broken and aching for your departure at this time. We have seen that the measure of life is not in the duration but in its donation.

My beloved brother, I salute you o! Haaa! I salute you sir, I remembered the day one of the grandson insulted you on our family platform, I reacted harshly defending your age and position as the Olori ebi, demanding for an apology. The platform was denied of further comment's until the third day when you stylishly accommodated the insult and pat the unremouseful brat at the back without any apology. I was chocked and surprised why you did that.

It is now I truly realised your values and what you stood for as the head of the family.

Egbon mi, I just felt the urge to celebrate and to eulogise you again tonight remembering the fellowship we shared together especially your toil and labour in the service of God and the church where I belong.

Today again, I bid you goodbye; I believe heaven must have welcome you home with joy and funfair as other Saints in glory beyond the grave till we meet again someday!

Thank you for all you gave us. The legacy you left is good.

Let me stop here for a while!

My warmest regards to Baba & Iya Brickfield! Iya Ake, Iya Oshogbo, Iya Ifo my mother, my brother Segun.

First time he came to visit with us we were in Oceanside, San Diego. I had recently lost my own dad the previous year and had been to Nigeria to bury him. At the time I had a stressful job with a hellish commute even by California standards. We lived in suburbia with barely any public transport so in the mornings as I was setting off on this commute he would ask me for rides to the Oceanside Public Library on Mission Ave.

Initially I was grumpy about these rides, but as time went on I came to enjoy his company and this was valuable bonding time I wished I could've had with my dad. I was happy my "second dad" was there with me. I grew to treasure his company. I was wondering "what was this old man doing studying so passionately at this age, going to the library everyday?" I started to appreciate his work ethic and constant drive for self improvement his daughter (my wife) obviously inherited from him. After he left my commute was quiet and lonely and I realised I missed his company in the mornings on the way to work. But he had helped me not miss my own dad as much. I was grateful for him reminding me of what daddies are: the person who teaches us to always strive to better ourselves. The quiet hero who gets you through the tough bits of life without needing the drama and fanfare of mummies. The hero we all never appreciate until they are gone.

Thank you sir, for being a good role model.

We shared so much happiness in time of yesterday, and to say how much you will be missed. I pray God grant you enternal life .

We love you but God loves you more may your gentle soul rest in peace my beloveth brother mi.

In Honour Of God's General – Pastor Toyinbo Lambo

Egbon mi sir, Huuun! So your demise is another reminder that we are all tourists on this planet earth and that life is short lived no matter how long it takes.

As it seems, God is our travel agent who has already fixed our itineraries, reservations and destinations irrespective of all our agendas and plans.

It is truly evident that life here on earth is just a trip as we all appeared someday to disappear another and to reappear someday.

Although you might have come to the end of your journey of life here on earth, it's been so had to believe and to say goodbye sir.

But because it has pleased the Lord to take you home to Himself at this time when we all needed you most with us as the Olori Ebi, the Arole of Ladunjoye Lambo's dynasty and the Bishop of our family, daily feeding us with the bread of life from the throne of God; sincerely our heart is heavy but our joy is that, you have gone far away into the silent night of glory and each time we realized this, we don't have to be sorrowful anymore.

JESUS' friends never dies, they fly away to the unknown in the sky and their bodies conceal away from worm, below the ground to sleep on until the resurrection morning.

All your good works lives-on after you which will be tremendously remembered by we your nucleus and the extended families for a very long time; they are more than enough to keep you in our hearts for ever.

Indeed you are a warrior and dogged fighter though without military background, but in all you believe in even to the last moment of your life as the OTUNBADE OF IGBORE land.

God’s General sir, indeed by your fruits we realized and recognised that you are not just a warrior but also a fearless leader per excellence, a rare gem worth of emulating. Your greatness is felt in pieces of yourself you have deposited with all honesty in our lives as well as many other heritage that God put under your care. Your life leads even in your absence. Your love, your care and dedication towards the larger family making efforts to rewrite the family history in gold is a light.

Indeed, the loss of a loved one is never desirable, let alone a father like you and a dogged pacesetter for us your siblings. We can just only encourage ourselves at this point to be strong together more in the Lord and in the Power of His Might knowing fully well that soon, we shall meet with you again to path no more.

To the biological children, you all will always be in our prayers as you process this new reality of family life dynamics. May the memories of his strength, loving kindness, care, services to the Lord and humanity give comfort to you all in Jesus most precious and matchless Name. Amen.

Brother mi, the truth is that you will be greatly missed. Keep resting in the bosom of the Lord.

Sleep on thou beloved, Jesus is by your side. Be not afraid, for He promised Resurrection to us. To live on earth for you as Paul said is Christ and to die is gain to heaven.

Let us not be sorrowful like those that have no hope. We bid thee farewell dear beloved brother. Sleep on and take thy rest.

Adieu our beloved brother!!!

I miss you so much my dear lovely father. I miss your voice and how you were always so poised and composed. I miss your kind face and smile. I miss how you scold so gently and I can take a rebuff too. I love how you discuss issues with me and value my opinion. I miss when we were young, how we all used to play monopoly and our regular chess games in the evening. I miss how you care for furry pets, dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys and your most favorite, your parrot , Ayekoto, from when I was 10, he got stumped and died when I was 28 in 1999. I could feel how much pain you felt for losing your best friend. You were so full of hope for humanity, you embraced people and took on the arduous task of bringing all the families and extended families together, you educated us on the family history and shared photos of the family hierarchy with us. Most times we did not appreciate you, we took it for granted and sometimes saw it was a burden to read the messages. Now, I miss your messages and talking to you every week. I will cherish all those messages you left us forever. You will forever be missed. Rest with the Lord my dear Daddy, the heavens are rejoicing they gained a soul as beautiful as yours.Β

Tributes from Mr. Femi Lambo

Aging is certain but death is imminent. And it is curious to know that there is no schedule of death as death is neither reserved for old nor for the young. Moreso, God Himself is not magnanimous enough to give a Time Table of death. This indeed is splendid and glorious.

As biblically proclaimed- God giveth and God taketh ,glory be to God. Then oh Death, where is the triumph and where is thy sting. You were swallowed up in victory.

Thereto, with adeep sense of sorrow, we thank God for the life of devotion lived by our indefatigable brother, cousin ,husband, father, teacher, preacher in the person of Rev. Theophilus Olatoyinbo Lambo who departed this sinful world on the early morning of Wednesday, 13th day of October 2022 in Maryland, USA.

As evidenced, even at his ripe age, he was steadfast and desired, channeling his energy to active services in the Lord's vineyard and humanity. He was a precious gift from the above for us to treasure. A man endowed with uncommon virtues and strong character. His life taught us to aim for success but also to remember that failures and setbacks do not defile a person but rather strengthen one's character.

He was a prayer warrior, therefore, father and friend to many indeed. He had enormous capacity to give himself to others particularly his great indispensable contribution and his inexhaustable energy that made him hero among his peers.

Notwithstanding all these attributes and atonement ascribed, to the contrary early Wednesday morning of 13th October, 2022 you said "Bye-bye" to the world leaving behind children, relations, siblings, the church where you remained faithful, dedicated and committed to the end. Contrary to the devil's anticipation, our joy knows no bounds because you died in the Lord.

You were more than a relation to us you were a living creation, created to serve a particular purpose which you have accomplished. I hope someone, somewhere within will wear your shoes and take us to the promising land. May the generations left behind be greatly blessed and be comforted.

"Egbon mi" as lovely called, thanks for your life of prayer and benevolence, cheering and caring. You were affectionately celebrated. Continue to rest in the bosom of your Lord. Sleep till the resurrection morning.

We love you dearly. Adieu, Odaro, Odigbose.
