Baba Agbalagba as I fondly called you, there are no words for something as heartbreaking as your death but I am thankful for your life, for who you were.

You were more than a uncle to me, you were a father, a friend, a disciplinarian and most importantly a confidant. I remembered when you taught me how to tell time and how you became friends  with my teacher just to check up on my progress back then in secondary school. Finally getting that 2:1 I promised you uncle. You will forever be in my heart ❤️❤️❤️

Keep resting till we meet to depart no more my Baba Agbalagba.

When I received the link to write a tribute, I wondered whether it was proper to write as an older brother/father., but I remembered that writing and delivering a tribute can be therapeutic, helping to process a grief and honour the memory of my younger brother/son.

Sometimes I still pray and ask God why this happened. But then I realized and asked forgiveness; who am I to ask?, hence my decision to break tradition and write you this tribute.

I remember when you first came to Abuja, I was really excited and happy I was having you live with me, especially for the resemblance, my shoulders rose because I know your person.

I was known in my professional and friends circle then, but not in my neighborhood. When you arrive Kado estate in Abuja, you became a superstar because everyone fell in love with you in the neighborhood, you took over and controlled two large estates with your accessibility, your sense of humor, always there to help anyone, all these in less than two months ?, you were not even an official or exco member of the two Kado estates ?, but your voice reverberated everywhere,

I became famous in my community overnight because of you, you even took over my wife who eventually became your sister and small mother. And you kept this control for all your years in Abuja.

The neigbourhood was sad when you decided to relocate back to Lagos, it was like they knew they’ll never come across a good spirited person like you again. Some cried, I remember telling your friends at your send-off party, that you will be back to them soon. Never knew I was lying to them

When you joined VOTG Consulting, you brought your usual characteristics, humour, laughter with that touch of seriousness, Boy you blew the roof off, the environment changed seriously and became one serious loving family, even I was jealous. Your organizational capacity, you became my second whistler, there is almost nothing you and Kehinde Obanure cannot organize or resolve.

Victory Christian church will never forget you, I can go on and on because you always make me proud, I am truly blessed to have you as my brother and friend. I wasn’t really surprised by the number of messages I received from people that I never expected. They were all saying the same thing. You were always there to reach out first to those who were in need of help. No matter how small the details were, you were there. It warms my heart to know that you are indeed a blessing to many people in your own little way. You were always there to check on them (relatives & friends) and you were always sharing stories of other people without even mentioning the help you were extending them.

How does one express your amazing essence and spirit, your selfless generosity, uncompromising belief in all that is good, and unwavering commitment to your family and friends? Words, even the very best of words, cannot pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss that we feel.

You’re a Soldier and gallantly you defended everything you hold there, most especially your Family.

God will grant us the wisdom and understanding to care for all you left behind.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.

There are no goodbyes SoulJahman , Rest in Perfect peace SHOOP.

Shoop!!

You were larger than life, I had a uncle, and dear friend in you. You are just you, special in many ways, You were that uncle I could talk to and feel like I was being listened to, and you listened in a way that made me feel wise. Your heart was rare. You loved and prioritised family.

Though we don't communicate very regularly, every moment I had with you was awesome.

I remember praying you give your life to Christ on your birthday 2 years ago. I did love and honor you and still honor your memory.  Thank you for the gift of friendship.

Getting the news of your passing was a huge shock to me. When I remember fond memories of you, I have to remind myself it's all gone now. 💔

I know it's a lot for the entire family, I pray for strength, wisdom, light in this season. It is well. Forever in my heart ❤️

Adieu Uncle.

Rest on Sir!

We pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort and console your precious family in Jesus Christ name 🙏

Me: “Agba letu, omode lawo”

Him: “kiddo wagwan?”.

Don’t know what to write but these words kept ringing in my head everyday since that day we saw you take your last breath. Till now, I am still indenial and I assure myself daily that I would still talk to you whenever I feel lonely at home in London.

ATM, words have failed me but I hope I’m able to get through this. You’ve helped me get through EVERYTHING right from Bariga days till just a few weeks ago. Now I wonder who will help me get through your death? Again, I’m still indenial cos I don’t believe you are gone big bro.

In all, G.I.T.G 🙏🏾
