Olajumoke's obituary

Celebrating the Life of Olajumoke Olabisi Adejuwon, our Beloved Mum and Grandmum.

It is with heavy hearts yet profound love and respect that we celebrate the life of Olajumoke Olabisi Adejuwon, our cherished mum and grandmum, who left us on Sunday, July 7, 2024. Born on April 15, 1952, in Lagos State, Olajumoke Adejuwon lived a vibrant and impactful life filled with love, passion, and immense dedication.

Grandma Olajumoke spent her childhood between Lagos and Ondo town before attending St. Louis Secondary School in Ibadan. Her thirst for knowledge led her to the University of Ibadan, where she studied Agriculture. It was during her University years that she developed a love for autobiking, owning a beautiful autobike (graciously bestowed to her by her esteemed father - Pa Michael Modupe Sadipe) and becoming a proud biker which was a source of great joy and adventure for her.

At the age of 26, Olajumoke married her heartthrob, Victor Olusegun Adejuwon. Together, they nurtured and raised four astounding children, creating a home filled with love and warmth. The couple’s love story was one for the ages, and they were fondly referred to as "those lovebirds" by most who knew them.

A woman of many talents, Olajumoke was passionate about music and sang in operas during her school years. Her beautiful voice was a constant presence at home and church, where she sometimes served as the Head Choir Mistress. Her love for music was matched only by her love for reading, particularly on health, wellness, and social activities. Despite the advancing years, she stayed up-to-date with social media like a youngster, always keen to learn and connect with the world.

Olajumoke was passionate about travelling the world and so, she explored the far corners of Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. Her travels were marked by her knack for class and elegance, always seeking out the best ambiance, scenic experiences and cuisine.

Sometimes fondly referred to as "Sweet Mama," Olajumoke was a joy to everyone she met.  Along with her highly principled nature, her fierce love, strong discipline, and unwavering advocacy for peace left an indelible mark on her family and community. Her devotion to her husband, Victor, was deeply touching, often expressing that her greatest wish was for his happiness. Their relationship was indeed a testament to true partnership and love.

Olajumoke’s impact extended far beyond her immediate family. She became a mother figure to many, embracing friends and neighbors who became like family. Her nurturing spirit and penchant for fostering reconciliation and harmony endeared her to all who knew and understood her.

Olajumoke Olabisi Adejuwon, our beloved mum and grandmum, leaves behind a legacy of love, joyfulness and peace. She is survived by her beloved husband, Victor Olusegun Adejuwon, their children, grandchildren and a multitude of friends and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.

May her precious soul forever rest in perfect peace. Amen.
