Cenie’s life was a testament to compassion and selflessness. Those who knew her were drawn to her warmth and kindness—qualities that made everyone feel seen and cherished. Her servant’s heart guided every chapter of her journey, from her early years in Virginia to her later days in Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Rixey" Jessup and their cherished grandson, Robert Rixey Dupuis.

In recent years, Cenie relocated to a small suburb outside of Birmingham, Alabama. There she embraced a new season of life with joy and purpose. She became an active member of her church community, discovered a passion for pottery, and spent meaningful time with those dearest to her. These moments reflected the essence of who she was—a woman who gave freely of herself and found happiness in connection.
