It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Obie Waples, a loving and devoted mother, who left this world on April 18, 2023. Born in 1935, Obie lived a full and rich life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and an extraordinary gift for nurturing both plants and animals.  Mom was never in a hurry to get anywhere and her passing was no exception.  Mom left this world peacefully and without pain thanks to her hospice care, she simply ran out of gas.

Obie is survived by her sons David Waples , Kevin Waples and her daughter Wendy Espinosa, all of whom were deeply loved and cherished by her. Throughout her life, Obie's gentle spirit and her capacity to create beauty and harmony in her surroundings were a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew her.

A true magician with plants and animals, Obie had an uncanny ability to raise indoor plants and care for her animals. 

In honor of Obie's love of animals and gardens, her family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your favorite animal shelter or the Denver Botanic Gardens.

As we mourn the loss of Obie Waples, let us remember and celebrate her remarkable life, her unwavering love for her family, and her commitment to making the world a kinder and more beautiful place. May her legacy live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
