Her most loved character. I remember Nova illustrating this one during our GO GAIA days...around this time she was experimenting with animation, she made this drawing as a sort of vision of how she imagined an animated series would look like.

Nova and I were acquaintances from the old NiD boards and DeviantArt back in the 00s. I always admired her work and the effect she had on those around her. I think we interacted a few times, if only briefly.

She was always very down-to-earth and encouraging the handful of times we did. I was always under the impression that she was just that kind of person.

It comes as no surprise that she was so dearly loved by so many people.

About 12 years ago I found her artwork for the very first time, I was 13 and I vividly remember thinking 'I want to do that someday!' I never stopped trying to improve since. My only regret is that I never got to tell her how much she inspired me and my journey, much as I'm a complete stranger. Rest in peace Nova, I'll forever continue to mention your name whenever I'm asked about how and from who I learnt to draw and illustrate even if I all I did was watch from a distance.

My deepest condolences to Nova's family and her friends. I may not have known Nova personally, but I'm fortunate to have met and considered her an acquaintance of mine. Her skill and creativity as an artist have always been both a massive inspiration and influence to me and I wouldn't be quite the artist I am now for not having known her. I may not have known her like many of my friends did, but you can tell a person by how much those around them love and care for them. She always seemed so kind and brave and strong. A 'nova' is the astronomical birth of a new star, and truly her brightness shined and gave warmth and inspiration to many. She will never be forgotten.
