I wasn't entirely sure what i could do to help, but in the end i decided i wanted to contribute to Nova's memorial by making a video. The video mostly consists of my thoughts about her and my feelings regarding her passing. I also wanted to bring her breath-taking artwork to the attention of anybody who might not have known her. I also really wanted to use this opportunity to try and round up support for Nova's final wish too. I hope we're able to reach our goal and get Nova to Oregon ~

I miss her so much. Part of me is still having trouble accepting the fact that she's gone. I find myself going to her Twitter page on a daily basis and expecting to see a new tweet. I keep checking my DM's hoping that our chat has been updated with a new message from her. Nova's passing has left a void in my heart. Her spirit was larger than life and her soul shone through everything she created. She was unreal. Words are failing me because nothing I say will ever equal to the amount of admiration we have for her.
We will miss you always, Nova. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing to spend some of your life with us, and I pray we'll see you again. Rest peacefully, our oldest dearest friend. We love you ~

Nova is, and always will be, a legend, an inspiration, and a dear friend.
I met Nova through an online drawing app (Oekaki) back in the late ’90s. We talked and laughed fairly often back then. Nova had a special kind of sparkle that could brighten the gloomiest of days whenever she was around. She made a rough patch of my life easier and gave me the strength to keep going.
Although we drifted away over the years, earlier this year we reconnected through Twitter. I'm glad I was able to help her one last time by sharing some of her older artwork that I had saved from many computers ago. Thank you for all the laughs, and love, Nova. I hope someday our souls will meet again. For now, know that there is always a place for you in my heart.

Nova was a beautiful soul, and the impact she made on the world is immeasurable. Everywhere she went, she inspired better in others not just with her skill but her wonderful outlook on life.Since learning Nova was ill I've spent a great amount of time considering the impact she had on my own life, and how incredibly different it would have been had I never had the utter blessing of meeting her. Nova was magnetic, and created vibrant communities filled with people that I met as a young child and still know and keep in contact with today- people who love and cherish her and always will. Her dedication to her artwork and skill inspired me always, and I learned many things from her. Today I make a living with artwork, using skills and influences I learned from her. I remember learning what 'stoicism' was from her, and admiring that quality in her. She was brave, courageous, kind, and always enthusiastically encouraging. All this and I was not even as close to her as others.
Nova has touched so many lives and will never be forgotten.

Nova was a major inspiration for many artists within the NiGHTS community, and many who worked on our recent fanzine. The NiGHTS Journey of Dreams Fanzine team have decided to donate all proceeds towards Nova's family for what ever charity they decide to use it for. It really hollows you out being that person who finds out 9-1/2 months later out of coincidence...
I met Nova over the chatting app ICQ back in 1999 through a mutual friend at the time. We were active in the Sonic fan community, with her going by the alias of her character "Neocat"/"ZoeVale", while she knew me by my character "Blade". We enjoyed fan activities together and got to know her personally as we chatted regularly. She was always a ray of sunshine and full of humor and personality. Plus, her art has always been amazing.
As our generation of the Sonic community got older and went into college and into life, we parted away from it as well and swapped cell contact to keep in touch offline. Sadly, our social connection wasn't as strong as it used to be when we were in the fandom, so we started to drift apart after the mid-2000s.
I remember she told me she did some work for the Neopets website for a time, though, I was unaware of her alias change to Kichigai, her activity in the Nights into Dreams fandom, and her social media links until I stumbled across it in the 2010s, amazed at how much better her art had gotten. Any contact we had at this point was just idle chit-chat.
As I was thinking about a piece of fanart she did for me early Sunday morn from way back when, I was looking to reach out again... and this is how I learned.
I really miss you, Nova. I hope to see you in the afterlife - either as ourselves or our characters.

Happy Thanksgiving my sweetie. I miss you more than any words can impart. I will embrace the memories of times past when we all shared in a Thanksgiving feast and then suffered a food coma the rest of the day…lol. Love you always and forever.

Nova was an organ donor. She was able to donate her corneas so that someone out there can have the gift of sight. The cornea is the clear, transparent front part of the eye . Think of it like a biological contact lenses. She would be very proud of this. I remember a few months ago driving Nova back from the hospital after she had gotten a blood transfusion after surgery. She was so curious who the blood donor was. She wondered what kind of person, what did they do, did they eat healthy..etc. Then she turned to me proudly said , "Did you know I'm an organ donor!? " I wonder who the lucky person is out there to have receive this precious gift.

While never having known Nova personally, I have followed her breathtaking creations for many, many years. The care and attention she weaved into every work was always a treat to see, as well as her technical prowess. Nova’s artwork was and will continue to be a huge inspiration to any who come across it.
From the brief moments of her person I was lucky enough to see through following her socials over the years with posts about her life, she seemed like a wonderful, funny, and tenderly human soul. Thank you, Nova “Kichigai”, for being a shining light for many creatives out there. Rest easy, rest well, and know you are and have always been treasured.
