Norman's obituary

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a remarkable soul, Norman Mark Streit, who peacefully transitioned from this world on August 24, 2023 after years' long battle with cancer. He was a good guy—a genuine and kind-hearted individual whose vibrant personality and warmhearted presence were a joy to all who knew him.

He was a beacon of empathy, making everyone feel special and caring deeply about people from all walks of life. His genuine interest in people's stories and his ability to listen without judgment created a safe space for all who crossed his path. Those fortunate enough to call him a friend knew the warmth of his heart and the depth of his compassion.

Norman's awe and wonder for life were infectious. He approached each day with a childlike curiosity, marveling at the beauty in the world around him. His ability to find joy in the simple things served as a reminder to us all to appreciate life's little blessings.

Norman's journey brought him to connect with people across Ocean County, New Jersey where he found camaraderie and friendships selling BJ's Wholesale Memberships. Later, he found  passion in selling ID Life Vitamins, an organization where he met "the best people in the world."

Norman loved dancing, music, movies, animals, kids, reading joke books, chatting on the phone, and his thick head of hair. He was an avid supporter of the Jets and the Mets, always cheering for his teams through the highs and (mostly) lows. His generosity knew no bounds, as he regularly opened his heart and home to those in need and enjoyed being a landlord to live-in tenants. He found spiritual fulfillment through various religious practices and embraced a unique path, ultimately identifying as a "Jew for Jesus."

He was an extremely loving and proud father to his children, Robin Miccio and Logan Streit, and his granddaughter Shana Miccio.

In his selflessness, Norman donated his body to science, supporting Temple University Medical School to advance the future of medicine—an embodiment of his giving nature.

Let us remember the gregarious, funny, caring, and loving man he was. He leaves behind a trail of memories, laughter, and inspiration that will continue to touch lives for generations to come.

We will be hosting a Celebration of Life event in honor of Norman. Please email robinmiccio@gmail.com for more information.
