Norman's obituary

Norman Landsberg, Legend of 47th Street, in Manhattan's famed Diamond District- Born 11/08/1926, died peacefully from Covid related illness on 2/13/2021.

Growing up in the Bronx, he helped his father Jacob, delivering seltzer to tenements in the neighborhood.

After serving his country as a translator during WWII, he attended NYU on the GI bill. In 1948, upon graduation, he wed the only love of his life, Carol, and spent the rest of his life with her and their 3 sons. He created his legacy business, Norman Landsberg Creative Jewelers, while trying to make himself a class ring that he could afford to buy. His sons Jeffrey and Jonathan continue on in the family business.

His kindness and generosity to all will follow him and his memory. He believed in sharing his good fortune and did his best to encourage the very diverse next generation of jewelers on 47th street, He had a good word for everyone and was not judgmental.

He is survived by his sister Diane Sass, his son Jeffrey, wife, Susan and their children, Harley, William and Quin, son Barry, wife, Melanie, children Jake and Daniel, and son Jonathan, wife Dana, and children Brandon and Madison.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb 17 at Sharon Gardens, and donations are gratefully accepted to St. Francis Heart Hospital in Norman's honor.
