We would enjoy any photos, videos, or stories about Norm that you would like to share. I posted some photos and videos of him below, and I posted more photos in a Flickr photo album at https://www.flickr.com/gp/gut… .

A short tennis story about Norm, that I shared with Jason. It sums up why I miss playing tennis with Norm, but more about missing his humanity, humility, and humor.
During an early morning tennis doubles match (Norm and I were losing 1-5), I broke a string on my racquet while returning a shot that did not clear the net. I called 'time' to get a spare racquet from my equipment bag. Norm said, "Don't worry about it. Just use that racquet. The frame and handle are still good. Besides, there's no evidence you've used your strings today." I stepped back on the court, smiled, and said, "OK. Let's do this." We lost 2-6. Think about that score, and realize we won one more game, and it is the 'best' loss of a match I ever felt, thanks to Norm.

To me Norm was one of a kind. He was kind, loving and accepting. Jim and I really miss him, and will remember him always.

Happy Birthday, Dad. You would have been 74 today. Here's a video Jason took on your 70th birthday

Remembering Norm on his birthday today. In lieu of a birthday present I donated to Youth Hope Foundation in Redlands in loving memory of Norman.

I want to offer my condolences for the passing of your father, Shannon. While I did not work directly with Norm at TRW/NGC, I knew of him through stories about his tennis games with Tony Lin, Linda Sproul, and Lou Cassel, whom I worked for. After retiring and joining the annual TRW ICBM Retiree Luncheon, I became more acquainted with Norm. He organized the luncheon and regularly provided updates among the retirees. Our last email exchange was in December 2024, when he felt blessed to spend Christmas with your family in Tucson and New Year with your brother's family in Encinitas. He closed that message with "Looking forward to seeing you at the next Reunion Luncheon." It’s hard to believe he won’t be there this year! I'll miss his smile and friendly presence. Please also extend my condolences to Sharon and your entire family.

So sorry to hear of Norm's passing. He and I worked together in Systems Eng at TRW. We always had demanding challenges but we also had a good laugh daily to offset any crisis. I will miss him and his ever enduring loyalty to God, country and TRW tennis.

Sharon, I still find myself thinking about giving Norm a call to just check in. I hope you and your family are doing well.
See you Sunday,

A great work colleague, friend, and tennis partner. Spoke often of his family and was proud of the accomplishments of Jason and Shannon. He made my tennis game more enjoyable.

Larry and I so enjoyed the years we worked with Norm, and are blessed to have had the opportunity ALL these years, to call him "friend", long after we had all retired. He was always a pleasure to work with.
Larry and I extend our deepest sympathies to Sharon, and the family. He will be missed.

My husband, Larry and I have known Norm and Sharon for a long time. Larry worked with Norm and we took many enjoyable motorcycle rides with Norm and Sharon to the desert, mountains and frequently to Oak Glen for Mexican food. Norm was enthusiastic about our outings and always bragged about his wonderful children and grandchildren. When Larry got very ill Norm would come over to sit and visit with Larry on a regular basis. He was a devoted friend and always available to help if needed. He would also brag about how wonderful Sharon was and all the trips they had planned. He was always a kind and fun loving man. How fortunate for all who knew him to share in his enthusiasm and love of life.
He will be greatly missed.

I’m very sad to hear of Norms passing. I worked with Norm at TRW and Northrop Grumman and starting in about 2011 I joined the lunchtime tennis group with Norm. Norm was so enthusiastic about tennis! . He will be missed.
