It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma Wakup, a resilient spirit, and devoted matriarch on February 28, 2026. Born on a fall day in 1938, her journey spanned across 88 cherished years.

Norma was predeceased by her loving spouse, George Wakup as well as many siblings, parents, uncles, aunts, and grandparents. The departure of her grandson, Eric Wakup, and granddaughters Samantha and Elizabeth Urbanski, occurred before her own, and their memory lived vibrantly in Norma's everyday life.

Her legacy continues to be carried by her dutiful children - her daughters, Victoria Urbanski (Stanley Urbanski) and Mary Wakup (the Late William Ferry), her son, George Wakup; and her grandchildren - Dawn Urbanski, Jennifer Grieger (Ryan Grieger), Violet Urbanski (Sergio Velazquez), Sara Tomazin (Patrick Tomazin), and Kimberly Sassano (John Sassano) and Damien Slowinski. Ten great grand children will lovingly remember their great Grammy; Tessa, Liam, Johnny, Emma, Samantha, Allison, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Madelyn, and Joshua. The bond Norma shared with each of them was unique and deep, spanning over the years in a bountiful family tree.

The strength and willpower that Norma embodied will echo through the ages, her memory enduring in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her bright spirit and loving presence in the countless lives she touched will be deeply missed and forever treasured. In this time of grief, we take solace in the beautiful memories she has left behind, a woman of remarkable strength, endless kindness, and unwavering love.
