Norma's obituary

Norma Jean Lowe, age 83, went home to be with the Lord May 13, 2024 at her home. She was born May 9, 1941 to the late Dan and Eliza Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Lowe; several brothers and sisters and her great grandson, Hunter Lundy.

Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Spending time with family and going to gatherings was among her favorite things. She also liked spending time outdoors gardening, working in her flowers, feeding the birds and doing puzzles. Above all things, Norma was a devoted Christian and loved Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She diligently read the Bible and had read it 33 times. She was a true prayer warrior and also taught Sunday School over 40 years at Bethel Baptist Church and First Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters, Jennifer May, Christy Lowe, Tammy Robinson and husband John; son, Billy Wilson and wife Lisa; sister, Betty Johnson; grandchildren, Sandy Branch (William), Tammy Warren (Nathan), Jesse Wilson (Trista), Kayla Lester (Daniel), Joseph Robinson, Brittany Stamps (Jordan), Cortney Wilson, Andrew Robinson; nine great grandchildren; special friends, Rosemary Stansberry, Vanessa Nelson, Janie Reece, Alan Pennington, Carliss Farmer, Keith Farmer, her Sunday School class, and many more special friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Bodiford and Pastor Dennis Peterson officiating and special music by her grandchildren. The graveside service and burial will follow the funeral at Shoun-McEwen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Branch, Nathan Warren, Jesse Wilson, Joseph Robinson, Andrew Robinson, Alan Pennington, Jordan Stamps, and Tony Walls. Honorary pallbearers are Daniel Lester, Dylan Warren, Brady Wilson, Bryson Lester, Dr. Susanne Shine, Lindsey Yoggerst, First Baptist Church Widow’s Group, Lisa Greer, and Janie Reece.

At other times, friends and family may visit the home 3310 Campbell Rd, Mountain City, TN 37683.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Doe Valley Fire Department or St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice, Chaplain Chris Hughes, and Rebecca French for their care and compassion.
