Norma's obituary
Norma Jean Gmachowski (née Hill), a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and compassionate caregiver, passed away on July 30, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on September 12, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was raised in Arkansas, where she grew into the remarkable woman so many came to love and admire.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth Hudspeth and William “Bill” Hill; her sister, Ina Gale Hill ; her brother, Warren Christopher Coney; and her beloved daughter, Trina Louise Gmachowski.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda “Mandi” Gmachowski; her bonus daughter, Kimberly Harper; and her seven treasured grandchildren: Aiden, Killian, Dalton, Shamus, Gage, Jaxon, and Maverick. Being a grandmother was her greatest joy in life, and her love for her grandchildren was boundless.
Norma lived a full and vibrant life. She dedicated herself to helping others as a nurse, managed restaurants with strength and grace, and was known for her incredible cooking, which brought people together. She loved hummingbirds, the color purple, and filling her home with warmth and care.
Her legacy is one of resilience, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. Norma’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
