TRIBUTE TO A SISTER AND FRIEND (NKY)

I am yet to come to terms with the fact that your phone call to me at 5 p.m. on the 27th of February would be the last time I would ever hear your voice. It is incredibly difficult to accept that our long gist sessions, reminiscing about the good old days, have suddenly come to an end.

It was never in doubt that I loved and cherished you, for you were more than a friend, closer than family. You understood me completely from the very first day we met in the hostel at the University of Lagos over 46 years ago. My family became your family. My joy was your joy, and my pain was your pain.

Whenever I was amiss, you would fondly call me “Aunty Chris” and gently set me right with your firm yet loving words of wisdom. Our adventures were endless, especially during our Abule Ijesha days, memories I will forever hold dear.

Your presence was always a gift. You would call me “Onyike” and remind me to slow down and not overwork myself.

My sweet NKY (Kuches), you were truly special, extraordinary even. I always admired your optimism and your strong will. You left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing you.

Your passing has left a void, but I will fill it with cherished memories and gratitude for a life beautifully lived.

Rest on, my sweet NKY. I will forever hold dear our friendship and sisterhood.

Deaconess Christine Ohamobi (née Chukwu)

A truly great, gentle, lovely, beautiful, and amiable soul. Sincere condolences. May God grant your immediate family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss!!

Deep down my soul, you were a rare admirable personality. Heaven gained an Angel!

Dear Barr. Mrs. Nkechi Chukwurah, please sleep well in the bosom of your Creator.

Tribute to My Sister, NK

It is so painful to write this for you; I never imagined it would be this soon, but God knows best. You were a peace-loving person, always joyful and above all, welcoming to everyone around you.

To my beloved sister, Nwadiani m, who has gone to eternity — Barr. Nkechi Chukwurah (née Nwabueze) - I pray you have found peace in God’s arms.

Your sister,

Hon. Mrs Pat Ebele Onyia

(Nee Achike)

NK baby so this is it. You have gone the way that we all shall go some day. You have ended up being our senior in death. My humble and down to earth friend you will be sorely missed. My pain is that you did not wait to enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Sleep on dear till we meet on resurrection morning.

Kuchis!, The one that swam through seven seas and came out alife. I would hail her.                                               Dumgus!, The animal that doesn't fear the Hunter's bullets, but continues to feed on the grass. She would salute back.

That was our usual way of exchanging pleasantries anytime we met, and we would dissolve into peels of laughter. There was never a dull moment with her.

Kuchis, I choose to celebrate you and not to mourn because you were a woman of uncommon grace, contentment and strength.                          Your life radiated kindness, selflessness and compassion.

Life really feels short when death suddenly takes someone we love. In just a moment, everything changes. We're left with memories and a big wound in our hearts. The wound heals after awhile, but the scar remains forever. It reminds us to appreciate every moment because life can change so quickly.

To her family, may the Lord continue to comfort and strengthen you.

We'll miss you dearly Kuchis.                      Rest on, till we meet at the feet of Jesus.

CHIDUMGA SHELLEY UKAEGBU

Rest in peace  our dear Bar. Nkechi. We cannot question our creator. He knows our end from the begining.

I was totally devastated when I heard the news of Nkechi's passing. She was such a humble and sweet lady. She had a gentle mien around her, which radiated love and comfort. Her smile was very enticing and charming. She loved life to the fullest!!! Nkechi, we will always love you!!! We miss you a lot, but God loves you more. Adieu beautiful lady!!!

From your loving aunty

Nkechi, my dear sister-in-law, words are hard to come by.

Over this past year, our communications through text messages and phone calls meant so much to me. You are truly a special person. At first, I saw only your strong, professional demeanor as a barrister. Over the years, I came to witness your kind sensitivity and your bright, beautiful smile that always shone through.

Please know that I will continue to encourage your beautiful young adults. You raised them well and gave them a strong foundation that allows them to carry themselves with dignity and represent you in the highest esteem. Your love for your brothers, sisters, and so many relatives is widely known and deeply felt.

May you rest in peace, knowing how profoundly you are loved and missed. Your strength, grace, and infectious smile will forever remain in the hearts of all of us.

Françoise “Osodieli” Nwabueze

It is with a heavy heart I write this tribute to honour the life of my dear cousin, Barr. Mrs Nkechi Chukwura.

Her passing came as a painful shock.

Sister Nkechi as she was fondly called was a truly jovial and a caring soul. She had a natural way of bringing joy to those around her, lifting spirits with her laughter and warm presence. She cared deeply for others, always showing kindness in both big and small ways. Being around her felt easy, comforting, and full of life.

She held a very special place in my heart, but even more so in the heart of my late mum. She was my mum’s favourite niece—a relationship built on deep affection, closeness, and mutual love. To my mum, she was more than family; she was like a daughter.

Losing her has stirred something deep within me. It has made me miss my mum all over again, even after more than 20 years since her passing. It feels like a connection to my mum has been taken away, and that pain is difficult to put into words. But I find comfort in the sufficient grace God.

Though she is no longer with us, Sis Nkechi leaves behind a legacy of joy, kindness, and love. She will be remembered for her laughter, her caring heart, and the way she made people feel valued.

Good bye, dear cousin. You were deeply loved, you will be greatly missed, and you will never be forgotten.

I was deeply shocked by the news of your sudden departure. Though, i know that you are in a better place now. You would  be forever remembered. Fare thee well dearest  aunty Nkechi.
It’s hard to put into words how much Nkechi meant to all of us. She was truly one of a kind, witty, charming, and the kind of person who just made everything better by being there.
Whether she was being a devoted mom or acting as the most dependable ally you could ever ask for, you always knew you could count on her. She was steady, sharp, and incredibly kind.
She’s going to be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Rest in peace, Nkechi.

Though our hearts feel the loss of Barr Nkechi,(Ada Ukodei) we choose to hold on to hope.

The family of Late Abel Chima stands with the Nwabueze and Kosiname families, praying that God surrounds you with comfort, renews your strength, and grants her peaceful eternal rest.

Amen 🙏

The news of your sudden death was a rude shock to me. Kuchis, as my wife fondly calls you, it's so sad we'll miss your jokes, laughter and heart ❤️ of gold. The time shared with you and your children are full of exciting memories. My heart goes out to your entire family and I heartily pray 🙏 God to give them the fortitude to bear your irreparable loss.
