A Message of Love and Remembrance

In loving memory of our dear cousin Nina Afi Daniela Houngbo, whose radiant spirit left an indelible mark on our hearts. Nina was more than family—she was a burst of sunshine in every room, a source of laughter, kindness, and grace. Her passion for beauty, her gift for music, and her unwavering support for those she loved made her unforgettable.

We mourn her passing with heavy hearts, yet we celebrate the vibrant life she lived. Nina taught us how to show up for one another, how to love deeply, and how to carry ourselves with confidence and compassion. Her legacy lives on in every smile she inspired, every lyric she sang, and every face she helped illuminate.

Though her absence is profound, her memory is a blessing. We will continue to honor her by living with the same generosity, joy, and love that she so effortlessly gave.

Rest in peace, Nina. You are deeply missed and forever cherished.

Nina was very beautiful , intelligent and respectful young lady but the enemy death took away from family and friends and leave everyone in shock, pains and heart broken. 

But does Nina's life end with no hope? 

No, as Christians, Bible student or Bible reader, I trust God's comfort words from John:5:28-29 and his revelation:21:3-4 and righteous man Job:14:13-15 as well as prophet Isaiah 25:8 and many more in the Bible confirms that Jehovah have Nina's beautiful memories and he will call her again and Nina will answer and come out healthy, beautiful and strong and live forever in paradise on earth .

Death took you away from us far too soon. Writing this took so much courage, because I’m still struggling to accept that you’re gone. The last time we chatted was on December 17, 2025. never imagining it would be our final conversation.

I remember when I first came to Canada,you didn’t even know my sister and I, yet you welcomed us with open arms and took us out for our very first outing here. That kindness meant more to us than words can express. That was who you were: warm, selfless, and full of love.

You will forever remain in our hearts, Nina. You will always be cherished, and I will always hold onto the memories we shared.

Dear Nina,

My heart is broken as I say goodbye to you. You were not just my friend—you were my childhood friend, my schoolmate, and someone who shared so many precious moments of life with me. We grew up together, went to school together, and spent time in each other’s homes. Those memories will live in my heart forever.

I remember you coming to my engagement party. Your smile was so bright, full of joy and love. Seeing that smile is a memory I will always cherish.

Oh Nina, this hurts me so much. I will miss you more than words can say—your laughter, your kindness, and your beautiful spirit.

May the Lord comfort your family and all of us who loved you. May He hold you in His arms, and may you watch over us from the sky until the day we meet again.

In my mind, I was waiting to make it big before fully expressing my gratitude in the way I felt you deserved for the love you showed me as a new immigrant to Canada. You were introduced to me by a friend you met online, yet you welcomed me with a heart so genuine. You helped me find a place to live and patiently showed me around, guiding me as I learned to navigate a new environment far from home.

I never imagined that death does not wait, that it comes in its own time and way, leaving us with no choice but acceptance. What consoles me in this moment of grief is knowing that I never failed to tell you how grateful I was. Every time you asked how I was doing in Canada and told me how proud you were of me, I made sure you knew how much your kindness meant to me.

It is painful to say goodbye so soon, but they say Heaven calls for the good ones. I hope you are smiling wide wherever you are, resting peacefully, knowing your love made a lasting difference in my life.
