I'm sorry this is coming a bit late, but I just wasnt ready to say goodbye. You were way to young to be taken from us. You didn't deserve any of this, you deserved so much more. You were a sweet and gentle soul. You were loving and deserved to be able to live out your dreams and desires. I'm sorry you had to leave us and even more sorry that my goodbye came late I just wasnt ready to say goodbye one last time. 💗
Hi Naomi, Cindy shared this sad news with me. I am so very sorry about the loss of your son. I send you my sympathy and love as you deal with your grief. May Nick's memory stay alive in your hearts and minds!

I was playing Working Class Hero by John Lennon on my guitar when Mr.Elsner walked down the staircase and out the door to join me, I did not know who he was at the time but we were smoking cigarettes at Jobcorps in the freezing cold in a Northern Maine winter singing the Beatles. That man became a great friend of mine and throughout our stay at Jobcorps I taught him how to play guitar, and he taught me how to enjoy life, knowing how fragile it is. I gave him his first tattoo, him letting me use him as "patient zero" as he said because I had never given a tattoo before. He even visited me a couple times up in Cape Cod after we graduated. We kept in touch up until the end and I will forever miss my bodyguard giant. I love you brother you are forever in my heart and I am brokenhearted your life was cut short. Fly High

Happy birthday, Nik. Although you aren’t able to celebrate with your family and friends in person, I hope you’re having a ball up there!

Nik was a great friend and a kind soul. We were supposed to find a time to hang out and catch up, but unfortunately that never happened. Gonna miss you brother.
This news rends my heart in two...nick was a good kind compassionate soul...i am very sorry for the loss from this young man taken too soon.
I met him as a high school freshman..
Unsure of himself...as they all were..
I remember that smile and eyes that took in the world around him . I've read of him being described as a " gentle giant" and that is very accurate.
His core of friends were a three muskateer ensemble..Nick, Ricky and Mike.
I had the honor of watching him mature, but never losing that all encompassing sensitivity and compassion.
He stayed in touch with me and txtd about politics and his desires and we conversed @ his enlisting in the Marine Corps, Among many other future avenues. He would occasionally txt me just to ask how i was doing
He had that side of him where he truly cared about people he called a friend.
I will miss him and a smile and tilt of a head and twinkle of an eye that would light up a room.
The young man had a quiet charisma.

Nick. Though we weren't close, you were always a pleasure and one of the smartest, kindest people in the classes we had together. Though the circumstances are tragic, your memory will live on, and you will be fondly remembered. I hope you are at peace.
My heart is heavy with grief. We may have not been very close but we were in the same group of friends. You were always nice to me. Time has passed us by and I'm sorry I didn't use it wisely. I'll be praying for those who were fortunate to have you in their lives to find guidance through this difficult time. Life is strange now and forever more since we lost a young soul. Rest in peace Nik Elsner. May we meet again.
Rest in sweet peace Nik Elsner. I hope they catch those bastards. This is terrifying and equally tragic that it could happen to such a great person. He didn’t deserve this violence. No one does. I’ll never forget his amazing spirit and warm smile. Sending love, well wishes, and prayers to his entire family.
My condolences to Nick's family, he was a really nice guy and even though we weren't friends I've heard nothing but good things about him and that says alot about a person. R.i.p nick. ❤
Nik Elsner I’m in utter shock right now ... 5 am and seeing Rest In Peace messages. I don’t think people really knew how good of friends we were. Shoot I never thought after you moved out of ct that I would hear from you again . But here and there you would call me to chat and ask for advice. RIP man, and thank you for keeping close ✊❤️
I am so sorry for your loss. Nick was always such a sweet and funny guy. I would always see him walking around the neighborhood and the times we got to chat were always filled with laughter. Such a gentle and caring soul.
I always knew Nick as my older brother’s best friend. He was around often and unlike some of the guys from school, Nick was always a gentleman to my sister and me. I wasn’t super close with Nick but my brother sure was which made us close in a way. I hadn’t talked to Nick in years until recently. He reached out via Facebook just to check in on me and the family. He was always like that, looking out for others in a genuine way. Most people only check in on you if they want/need something but Nick genuinely cared. I can’t believe he’s gone but I know he’s rocking the heavens with that smile. My deepest condolences to Nick’s family. My he Rest In Peace ❤️

All throughout high school, we all belonged to a group of friends that loved video games, comic books, and movies. We had various get-togethers throughout the years where we indulged in candy, soda, and "dork" talk.
My brother was an amazing soul, always ready to protect me even though I was the oldest.
While I was recovering from a self sustained injury, I remember sitting in my room watching tv and he asked to come in. He walked over to my bed and just hugged me. I knew he didn't know what to say, but he didn't need to. The hug was enough.
We always addressed eachother as "Big Sis" and "Little Bro". Unfortunately, now I'll never hear that again. I wouldn't have replaced him with anybody in a million years.
I love you, Little Bro.
My heart goes out to all of Nik’s family and friends. He had such a kind heart and it’s a tragedy for the world to have lost him. I’ll never forget the laughs we had.. talks about the universe and our ideas surrounding the meaning life.. or how he always wanted my cookies at lunch. Though we lost some contact over the last few years, he’ll forever remain in my phone as the Cookie Monster to remind me that beautiful angels are watching over us.
Rest In Peace, Nik 🖤 You will be forever loved by so many.
One of my fondest memories I have was getting introduced to Fantasy Football thanks to Nick, I remember him asking me if I’d be interested in joining his league! The draft was a fun chaotic mess and that’s kinda what the league was that year, a fun chaotic mess.
Also in the same year, we did a local football game with some friends around Thanksgiving. We hoped to have a bigger turnout, but we had a fun time regardless!
We’ve always had a fun and respectful rivalry going as he was a Patriots fan and me being a Dolphins fan, I really enjoyed talking about the game with him. I just know he’s looking down on us from The Big Gridiron in the sky, probably playing with some of the all time greats from the past! ❤️
Nick was in my Creative Writing class at BEHS. He was an imaginative and insightful person, very kind, and I enjoyed having him in my class. He was someone I always remembered, and years later, when I had Jillian — like her brother, a beautiful creative soul — in my English class, I’m sure the first thing I said to her was, “Your brother was in my class, too!” RIP Nick, and love and condolences to his family.
