Nick's obituary
With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Nicholas D. Byrd, 37, on November 15 2023.
He leaves behind his father, David L. Byrd (Lakemoor, IL), his mother, Merry A. Byrd (Huntley, IL), his sister, Bailey M. Byrd ( Ingleside, IL), as well as many beloved family and friends.
Nick graduated from Jacobs High School in 2004, and attended classes at both MCC and ECC.
Nick was an intellectual, who loved philosophy and deep conversations. He had a great sense of humor and an unassuming smile. He was also a wonderful, loving uncle to his niece and nephew, who adored him immensely.
He enjoyed campfires, music, gaming and volunteering at Marklund in Elgin. He loved sports, martial arts and playing pool. Nicholas' true joy was working with the disabled. He put in over 250 hours of his time volunteering. He was always willing to help out even when he had his own struggles. We are blessed to have had him in our lives for 37 years. In leui of flowers please honor MarkLund with your time or donation. Donations will contribute to benefitting the sensory garden at Marklund Wasmond Center (1435 Summit St. Elgin, IL 60120).
