I remember meeting Nelson many decades ago. My daughter Jenn met Tanya in High School, and they quickly clicked becoming best of friends. They would spend endless times either at Nelson’s home or at ours. Once Nelson commented, “You know Hector, your kids have spent so much time with my kids, I consider them part of the family.” That was a Nelson, always expressing kindness and generosity.
Both being Yankee fans, we had many conversations about sports, TV shows and traveling. He told me once that he loved traveling to all parts of the world. “Really Nelson I asked. What places have you visited?” Many places He responded, but from the comfort of my couch. You see I love to Watch the travel shows. I can go anywhere without leaving home. We both would then laugh out loud. Nelson had a great infectious laugh.
But Nelson also had a deep respect for Spiritual things. I saw it during our studies together. He ice said,
“I need more faith”so I need to study the Bible more. We all can echo that sentiment. I remember Nelson setting a goal of reading the daily text every day. He met that goal so well that He encouraged me to do the same since He would mention the days text at each of our weekly study.
He valued and enjoyed the study so much that we rarely missed our weekly study.
No doubt Nelson displayed a deep respect for Spiritual things.
We will deeply miss Nelson and look forward to a better future to come when Nelson will once again be a part of our lives in a new world.

We always enjoyed eating at our favorite restaurant , Provinos. That was the only Italian restaurant he enjoyed. He always said my italian food was better than the rest. I miss my husband and friend. Our joy was being with daughters and grandchildren. Nel was a real family man.

Nelson was like a dad to me. Jennifer and I became best friends in 6th grade. Nelson and Fran welcomed me into their home when I didn't have one of my own. He always looked out for us all and truly loved his family. He was an amazing dad, grandpa and person and touched so many peoples lives. He was the coolest dad to Tanya and Jennifer and so much fun to be around. His awesome personality lives on through them! I am grateful I got to be apart of his family and life and I will miss him dearly..

Nelson was my best friend husband, he always welcome me to his home. We share important moments with his daughters and family members. Nelson understood the importance of girl time, he always gave us our space when Fran and I got together. He was generous, funny and kind. Nelson will be forever missed and his smile. May he rest in peace 🙏

The first time I met Nelson I was 14 and he looked Tanya and I and said “you girls are gonna be trouble”. From the first time I came home to his house from school he welcomed me as one of his own! He always had a joke and kind words, always made me feel good about myself and encouraged me to know my worth. When he thought I was being mistreated he’d say, “Jenn just tell me who I need to take care of”. He was always looking out for everyone he loved. I can only think of him smiling and joyful because that’s all I ever experienced ♥️. I will miss seeing him come down the stairs with a huge smile always looking like he’s so happy to see me. Joy, charm, and laughter - that’s what I’ll always think of when I think of you, Nelson. I will see you soon!
