Neil's obituary
Neil J. Napolitano, 65 of Brick, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Jersey City, he later moved to Brick and was a 1978 graduate of Brick Township High School. He was the owner and operator of his own masonry business for 46 years and a member of the Brick Elks Post 2151, American Legion Post 348, Knights of Columbus and various hunting clubs such as Black Knight Bowbenders and South Orange Rod and Gun Club.
Neil was an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his free time traveling, hunting and fishing. When he didn’t have a rod or a rifle in his hand, he could be found in his kitchen cooking a massive feast to share with his many adoring friends and family who loved him dearly.
He was larger than life and had an impact on anyone who was lucky enough to spend time with him. He will be remembered for his infectious humor, willingness to help others and his exceptional head of hair.
Neil’s magnetic spirit was only matched by his relentless and unconditional love for his family. More than anything, he will be remembered as being the world’s greatest father and hero to his five children: Neil, Karissa, Jessica, Matthew and Jason, and for being the most loving and proud Pop Pop to Matthew and Santino.
In addition, Neil leaves behind an endless number of friends from all parts of the world who will miss him dearly, including many who considered “Big Neil” a second father.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Paul Napolitano, his brother, Samuel Napolitano, and his nephews, Paul Napolitano and Richard Napolitano.
He is survived by his three sons, Neil Napolitano of Cove City, NC and his wife, Tina, Matthew Napolitano of Brick, Jason Napolitano of Brick; his two daughters, Karissa Napolitano of Brick and Jessica Napolitano of Brick; and his two precious grandsons, Matthew Napolitano and Santino Ippolito. Also surviving are his brothers, Howard French, Mark Napolitano and Paul Napolitano as well as his two sisters, Judy Fox and Susanne Zanetti, many nieces and nephews, and his long-time partner, Doreen Emerson.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 26th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a service at 7:00 PM at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road Brick, NJ 08723.
In lieu of flowers: The family requests memorial tributes be directed to Neil Napolitano to assist with expenses.
