How you can help

We are heartbroken to share that our brother, Nathan Daniel Simmons Sr., lost his life tragically in a hit-and-run accident in the early morning hours of August 2nd, 2025. He leaves behind three children, two siblings, and his parents, as well as a lifetime of loved ones, to grapple with the loss. Nathan was just 48 years old. Shocked and saddened by our sudden loss, we find we are now, unfortunately, unprepared to shoulder all of the unforeseen funeral and burial expenses.

If you knew Nathan, you knew his smile and his struggles. You knew how much his unforgettable charisma drew us in and how desperately he longed to share Christ with others. At this time, we simply want to honor his life and faith in the best way possible. So, we humbly seek support from family and friends during this difficult time.

If you are able, any financial tribute- no matter the amount- would greatly help us honor Nathan with a meaningful goodbye. In lieu of flowers, your gifts may be sent via this memorial fund, Venmo or Zelle.

Zelle: 720-990-9106 (Lelanna Simmons)
Venmo: @Lelamae (Lelanna Simmons)

Any excess funds will contribute to the needs of his children and parents. We thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. It means the world to us now. Please visit the "Events" tab for information on the wake, funeral, and burial.

Update from Aug. 26, 2025

Friends and family,

I just want to take a moment to thank you all. Because of your kindness and generosity, we’ve been able to cover most of the expenses to lay our beloved Nathan to rest with the love and dignity he deserves. My family and I are deeply grateful, there are truly no words to express the depth of our appreciation for your support.

I miss my brother dearly. The pain of his absence is overwhelming, but through your calls, messages, and words of comfort, I’ve been reminded of how deeply he was loved. This week, as we lay him to rest, our hearts remain broken, and the weight of this loss is something we will carry for a long time.

As life continues, I humbly ask that you keep me, my father, my mother, his children and Nathan’s brother in your prayers. We will be feeling the ache of his loss for many days to come.

We love you all, and thank you sincerely from the bottom of our hearts.

With love and gratitude,
Nathan’s baby sister, Lelanna
