Nathan's obituary
Nathan Joseph Dominique, Sr., peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge. He was 89 years old.
A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, Nathan was a proud graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School and a devoted veteran of the United States Army. He went on to retire from Kaiser Aluminum after many years of dedicated service and was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and unwavering commitment to his family.
Nathan was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Emelda Vincent Dominique; his parents, Emory and Gladys Dominique; his sisters, Rita Henry (Stanley), Gladys Cousin, Joyce Brown, and Carolyn Barbarin (Erskine); brothers, Emory Dominique, Jr. and Lee Andrew Dominique, Sr. of San Francisco, CA, Jerome Dominique Sr. (Shirley), and Morgan Dominique; in-laws, Melvin Lawrence and Willie and Henrietta Carter; and nephews, Jerome Dominique, Jr., Jeffery Dominique, Lee Andrew Dominique, Jr., and Stanley Henry.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving son, Nathan Dominique, Jr. (Jammie); his devoted sisters, Jeanette Lawrence, Vernell Dominique, and Barbara Parker (Ervin); his cherished stepchildren, Brian Burton (Sharon), Raynard Burton, Cheryl Pichon (Chester III), all of New Orleans, LA; Karen Burton Weary (L.D.) of Fort Worth, TX; and Kevin Washingon (Hitari) of Metairie, LA.
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Cecelia Dominique and Naomi Dominique, both of San Francisco, CA; his brother-in-law, Daniel P. Vincent (Leatha) of McKinney, TX. Nathan’s memory will live on in the hearts of a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a Memorial Service on May 30,2025 at 10:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at Boyd-Brooks Funeral and Cremation Services, LLC, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans, LA. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park.
