Nate's obituary

Nathaniel “Nate” Guy Baker, 21, of Glen Allen, Virginia, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina. Nate was born on March 19, 2004, in Richmond, Virginia, a son of Daniel Guy Baker and Leslie Yvonne Carroll Baker.

Nate had an infectious smile and a passion for life that many saw in his daily adventures. From family vacations to duck hunting to petting his superpup Dixie Belle, Nate always recognized his blessings and was grateful. Nate touched the lives of many and truly lived by the motto “No regrets” experiencing each day with the brightest of sunshine.

Surviving in addition to his parents of Glen Allen, VA, is his brother, Grant Phillip Baker; sister, Emily Grace Baker; maternal grandmother, Yvonne Bragg (Clint) of Gastonia, North Carolina; maternal grandfather, Robert Carroll (Susan) of Lancaster, SC; uncles, Ryan Carroll (Carmen) and Steven Baker (Samantha Smith); aunt, Kelly Lineberger (Mark); as well as his cousins, Chase Carroll, Molly Lineberger, and Amy Lineberger. Nate was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mark and Elaine Baker.

A memorial service to celebrate Nate’s life will be held at 2 o’clock, Saturday, April 5th, at Rutledge Chapel, located on the Horseshoe at The University of South Carolina, 1501 Pendleton Street, Columbia, SC.

An additional memorial service will be held at a future date in Nate’s hometown of Glen Allen, Virginia.
