I was lucky to work with Natalie at Pleora; I loved seeing her smile each morning and loved listening to her tapping her toes while she listened to her favourite, upbeat, songs in the cubicle next to mine. I knew that with her as my partner on a high-profile project, we could succeed beyond the company’s expectations; and we did! I missed her when she had to leave to start her medical appointments, but she made time to meet for lunches for many months. It was the love for her sons and for Antony that pushed her farther than anyone expected. Rest in peace Natalie! Xoxo

Dear Antony, Rowan and James, our deepest condolences on the loss of your dearest Natalie. We are traveling and received the news from Judy the day we hiked up West Peyto from Mistaya Lodge near Yoho National Park. We placed a rock on this cairn in memory of Nat as we know she so loved the mountains. Her bright spark will be missed throughout McKellar Park.

Dear Antony, Rowan and James,
Summer friends make Summers special. And gave us the opportunity before her illness to know Nathalie’s warmth, hospitality and sense of fun through our daughter Stephanie’s and grandson James’ stays at Lake Pemichangan. We salute Natalie’s and your own courage, and send our deepest sympathy.

I had the privilege of working under Natalie while she was the Alpine Director at Mont Ste Marie. Her hard work, thoughtfulness, and caring nature created an environment for all of us to succeed in. Her impact on this community (and many others) is truly inspiring.

Antony, Rowan, and James,
I was so sorry to hear about Natalie's passing. Though we didn't see one another often, in the time that we did spend together -- at Red Pine or at the Allan-Wisemans -- her warmth, generosity and kindness were plain to see. We also followed one another on Instagram, and Natalie's journey in the years since her diagnosis, as she seized everything that life had to offer, was truly an inspiration.
Wishing you love, strength, and peace.

Antony, Rowan and James, I'm so sorry for your loss. As her beautiful obituary, says "to say you were Natalie Courtenay’s friend was a privilege." I couldn't agree more. Over recent years I felt this privilege as she always time for a chat or a walk during our brief visits to Mont Ste Marie. She became my local guru -a wealth of knowledge on all things outdoors, especially in regards to the Pemichangan “back country”. She was a kindred spirit in wanderlust.
