Naomi's obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of the radiant Naomi Walker, a woman whose life was a testament to grace, resilience, and the power of a bright smile. Naomi was born on June 23, 1924,  and passed away peacefully on June 23, 2023, on the very day she turned 99. Her wonderful journey through life may have ended, but her legacy of love and care will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Naomi was born in Florence ,AL where she resided until she moved to Michigan and then to Minneapolis, MN.

Naomi was a shining beacon of happiness who always carried a brilliant smile on her face. She was an unwavering caregiver, always placing the needs and wants of others before her own. With her characteristic grace and beautiful personality, Naomi brought light into any room she entered and touched the hearts of many.

Naomi leaves behind a bereaved family who cherished her deeply. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years,  Edward Walker, sons Albert Crittenden and Maurice (Beth) Walker, daughter  Cherry (Chris) Overton, grandchildren Charena Holmes, Shauntel Beasley, Kaci (Kelly) Langums, Kevin Beasley, Maurice Walker Jr, Aaron Linthicum, Cedrix (Tonya) Walker, Cassandra (Derek) Burrell, Keesha Walker, Tiffany Young, Ashley Love, Meaza Love, Trey Love and Karice Walker, great grandchildren Jamar, Daysha, Jameris, Jordan, Reese, Ava, Robert, Kavon, Isaiah, Amelia, and great great grandchildren Jayla, Nahla, Anthony, Kamaria, Saylon, Brandon, and Kyro. She was predeceased by her sister Willa Dean, her son Bill, her daughters Yvonne and Princella, granddaughter Kim, grandson Leland and great grandson Kevin, all of whom she loved and missed dearly.

Her absence will be profoundly felt, but her memory will continue to warm the hearts of those she left behind. A tribute to celebrate Naomi's magnificent life will be held on July 7, 2023, with Visitation at 2:00 PM, and Service at 3:00 PM at Fountain of Life Gospel Church 3952 10th Avenue South Minneapolis, MN 55407. The service will be a commemoration of the wonderful life she lived, and an opportunity to share cherished memories of a woman who meant so much to many.

In the wake of Naomi's passing, we take comfort in the knowledge that her love, her beauty, and her radiant smile will persist in our hearts. As we bid farewell to this beautiful soul, we are reminded of her nurturing spirit, always striving to take care of others. Naomi will be missed, but her compassion, her love, and her spirit will be remembered always.
