Naomi has been more than a friend, she has been a true sister down through the years. As the close god sister of the girl who would become my wife she gave her approval for me being in the life of her best friend. We all would traveled together singing in the NY State Sacred Youth Choir, to Camp Amenia in upstate NY for work days, to West Middlesex for Campmeeting and those few times when the Brownsville trio let a guy from East New York join in on a song.

Naomi was in our lives during the years of courtship, then when we were engaged, when we got married and when we had each of our children. We all loved to laugh together, sing together, play tricks on Deb, and when ever Naomi felt like singing (which was most of the time) she made sure we had our notes and we would sing. There was a deep thread of friendship that Naomi and Deb allowed to encircle me in from the beginning that I am forever grateful for. I will miss her smile, her wit, her humor, love for God, for people, her simplicity and of course her old ways.

She was and continues to be one the most special people in our hearts and memories. We are thankful that in Christ her passing is from life to LIFE and that this is not goodbye it’s simple goodnight sis we will see you in the morning in that prepared place for prepared people.

With much love and gratitude
The adopted god brother

Our love for the Lord and each other allowed Na, my husband (“Tommy”, as she loving called him) and I to share a friendship that endured over the span of about 45 years. "Naomi Patricia, Na/Nai” was god-fearing, kind, loyal, and uniquely designed by God. We miss her already, but her place our my hearts is marked for eternity. And one day, we will spend our remaining time in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Miriam, Austin and family, we love you and we are praying much for you.

Dear Austin and Miriam,
Please accept my deepest sympathy and warmest embrace, though from afar. Your mom was close to me and Jennifer, my wife. We spent many great moments in fellowship and friendship, through the years. Distance never came between our bond and ties, developed first at Anderson College. We had some neat musical and fun get-togethers which cemented our unconditional love and support for each other. Your dear mom was an outstanding model of virtue and gentleness, who was also a lady of great courage and resolve. Na was always a no-nonsense lady with a terrific instinct for the spiritual things in life. Early on, in her role as chaplain of the ‘Fruit of the Spirit”, I remember being impressed by her character and intelligence in prayer. Some people pray for show or to impress others, Na prayed from her soul with aplomb and humility. I knew she was in touch with the Savior, and we all knew we had been prayed for when she prayed. Our group was more spiritually rooted because of her moral and spiritual leadership. I believe Chuck chose wisely when he appointed her as the spiritual vine from which all the fruit should model our respective roles. Na’s gentleness was also exemplary, and she was a great source of compassion and kindness. What I didn’t know was how funny and ready to chit chat Mz Naomi was . I sat beside her once on our trip to or from, not sure now which one, the West Indies and was in stitches the whole time. Na had a wonderful sense of humor and was one of those people who could keep you laughing, AT YOURSELF indefinitely. That trip gave me a whole new perspective of this spiritual dynamo who knew how to laugh and how to have the best time just chit chatting and yucking it up. I am certain Naomi’s life has had an indelible effect on us all, but for you Austin and Miriam, all I can say is THANK YOU! Hope to get to know you both much better as the years accumulate. Your Mom was a special gift to all of us and I know her legacy will live on in you both for all time. May her gentleness, and humor and laughter and godliness be a double portion for you both always!
In Deepest Sympathy,
Milton

Sending Love and prayers to Miriam and Austin. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
My continued prayers and deepest condolences to the family. Naomi was a delight to know. May she rest in peace. ♥️🙏💐
Our deepest sympathy to the family. Miriam and Austin, you remain in our prayers.
From our youthful days on campus at Anderson University, to watching our small children play in Kansas City, and years later back in KC chatting for hours always referring to each other as "Nai" and "Nee". Over the years, what I admired most about Nai is how she walked out her faith in God regardless of the struggle. Thank you, my dear friend, for leaving such a beautiful legacy. Yes, you are ever loved.

Naomi.....a girl's name of Hebrew origin meaning *pleasantness*.
Behold, how good and how *pleasant* it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Naomi longed for unity. She yearned for unity.  She strove for unity.
I am so glad to say that we became united. Even with our differences, we respected each other and we learned from each other.
I will miss her weekly text message every Friday evening..."shabbat shalom S'rah"...with a yellow heart!
I will miss our long telephone conversations. Sometimes they were intense. Most times they were just chatty. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was going to end a phone call with Nai when she said, "wait...one more thing"!
Oh how I would love to hear her say "one more thing" one more time. Life is short.
My sister, my friend, may your memory forever be a blessing.  Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, the True Judge.
When we first met Naomi, she had a friendly spirit to welcome you with a smile. She had a strong faith that encourages you, even when you approach to encourage her pain that she's going through . Naomi knew how to share in her necessity, she respects everyone who comes her way. She's easily and ready to apologize if she offended you, Naomi has a humble spirit that everyone admired of her. She's down to earth
person that we admired that inner beauty of her. She's respected among her peers, and she talks wisdom to encourage and motivate when you're down. Naomi will be greatly missed.
From the Mitchell Family- you have our deepest condolences, prayers and sympathy.
To Merriam &
Austin & family. I am saddened to learn of your Mother's passing. I knew Naomi from early childhood. She always had an unforgettable smile. I loved her and will miss our phone visits greatly, from time to time.
May you know the peace and comfort of our Lord in the days ahead! I join the many friends, and family in prayers and support for your family.
