It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nancy Sue Whitaker, 71, of Columbia, CA.  She passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026 after a long illness.  A cherished sister and friend, Nancy’s resilience and spirit touched everyone she met.

Nancy was preceded in death by her first husband, Greg Whitaker, and their infant son, Gabriel David Whitaker; her husband, Donnie Montoya; and her beloved brother, David Lee Giles.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Pett, Eric Sanger, and Erin Giles; her sisters, Candy (Mary) Calderon, Brenda Harkness, Carleene Hyde, and Bonnie Job; and a vast circle of devoted friends who were like family to her. Nancy’s compassion and fierce determination leave a legacy of love that will be forever cherished. 

Funeral services will be held privately. Rest in peace, dear Nancy.
