I just finished reading her Murder at the Empress Hotel #10 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve read 1-10 in this series and have 2 more to go. I’ve been passing them along to my sister.

Jill welcomed Tom & I on the first day we saw her and Ted at the B&C restaurant. They were there with friends of theirs, Ken & Karen, who we met earlier. We knew right away that Jill was a Christian and she had a heart of gold. She invited us to attend her church and sit on the side with Ted and all their friends. She is missed and now that I'm reading her books, I feel all the emotions of her in her Jillian Bradley character and her dog Teddy. I am planning on reading all her books and currently on #2 but sorry I didn't get them earlier so she could have sign them. Miss you Jill. 💔

I am deeply shocked and saddened by the news of Jill’s death. My husband and I met Jill through her husband Ted while we were all students at The University of Texas. I had known Ted at FBC in Tyler, TX. The four of us were broke students who were blessed with lots of love and laughter. We played board games and touch football, activities that were fun and cheap. We reconnected when Ted and Jill moved back to The Austin area many years later, and then I was able to keep up with them through Facebook after they moved. Jill’s smile was a bright light, and she was smart and witty. We were all blessed to have known her. Prayers to her family for comfort at her loss.

Love and prayers to Ted and family. Our family was blessed to have went to church with her at Crystal Lake Baptist. We have fond memories of her bright and beautiful spirit. She is singing with Jesus now!

I have so many memories of Jill and Ted at FBC Fair Oaks. Jill had such a love for the Lord and serving Him. I remember so fondly of her coming to my house to interview me for serving in Children’s Ministry. We served together for many years. Jill had so much life and energy. We lost touch after they moved to the Bay Area, but in the last few years reconnect on FB. My prayers go out Ted and the family.

One of my moms mantras was “if it is to be, it is up to me”.

My husband, Wolfgang & I were friends with Ted & Jill while attending Fair Oaks Baptist church together in the 1980's. She led our V.B.S.for a few years with a lot of joyful vigor & determination to involve as many people as possible to work with the children; all the while with the biggest smile on her face! She would not take " No" for an answer! I admired her passion in recruiting us!
The 1st time I went to her home to pick up my V.B.S. planning book, she had a huge canvas out on the front lawn with a can of apple green paint & a variety of brushes & rollers laying on the tarp next to the paint. She had her paint apron on & was ready to go! I asked her what she was about to paint & she said," I'm painting GREEN for over my new sofa!" She did indeed paint a modern art pop of green for over her sofa & it looked stunning!
After V.B.S. she invited us to her home for a thank you dinner. We were warmly greeted by her with her beautiful hostess apron on! The house smelled so delicious. The living room had a white sofa with strawberries on it with her painting of apple green above it! I felt like I had stepped into a Mary Englebright picture ! Then when dinner was to be served, we each found our name card showing us where to sit. Ted stood at the end of the table with a knife, fork and roast on a full sized platter to which he blessed the food & sliced the roast. Jill stood next to him as he placed a slice of roast on each plate. She passed the plate to the person next to her at the table & it was sent down to the end of the table until everyone had a plate! It was like we stepped into a Norman Rockwell painting!! ( My husband was fascinated that somehow she had green olives placed throughout the roast! How did she get them in there?!)
When Ted & Jill were soon to be empty nesters with Mark & Wendy grown up, they came to our home to share good news with us! They had prayerfully decided that they needed more children in their lives!! Some people in their lives thought they were crazy but they knew we were excited to try & have a dozen children in our lives, if God allowed it! We were allowed 6 beautiful children!! Needless to say, we were thrilled of their news that she was expecting another baby at her age!!! Ha!!What a joy it was to watch them courageously welcome Michael & Holly into their lives!!God most certainly works in mysterious ways & is good! So, so good!
Our hearts are broken for Ted & family as we at the same time are thrilled for Jill to be with Jesus! Lots of prayers & love sent through cyber space from our hearts to yours!

I was so sad to hear the news of Jill's passing. We were at First Baptist Fair Oaks together . My husband Mack was the minister of Education under Pr Dick Dwyer. We left there for the mission field in Brazil. I caught up with Jill through Facebook. I enjoyed seeing her tea parties and dishes that she made for Ted. I know she will be missed.
