Who was Nancy Perusse?To me s…
Who was Nancy Perusse?To me she was a loving Grandma. The times at Aunt Lori’s I remember the treats she made before the holidays. Sneaking for as many of those chocolate covered pretzels and turtles that I could get my hands on. Spending the summer with her watching the morning soap operas as she teaches me how sew in one of her color coded sheets. Her passion constantly was shown with her love of America and the Chicago Cubs. I really wish I had more of an opportunity to see her growing up before joining the military but am grateful that I was able to see her after retiring in her nursing home a couple years back. She has, and always had, such a welcoming persona when you came to visit. She has played a huge role in my life and one to imitate. I talked to her on the phone last summer and I promised that I would come and see her as soon as the pandemic got better and allowed it. It’s a constant hurt that I didn’t get the opportunity to do so but I know she is looking down on all of us smiling and waiting til the day we get to see her again.
