Nancy's obituary
Nancy Lawson Maury was born in Richmond VA on August 4th, 1928. She moved with her family to the Washington D.C. area in 1942 where she lived the majority of her life. She attended the University of Maryland and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.
Mrs. Maury was a member of the Chevy Chase Club and active volunteer for many charitable groups such as the American Cancer Society, Project Hope, Goodwill Industries and her beloved Herb Cottage at the National Cathedral. She also had a successful career as a real estate agent for over 45 years.
Nancy was pre deceased by her husband of forty years Deane Maury and her daughter Carolyn Ann Rowan (James) and is survived by her son John Lawson Racca (Sue), three grand sons and two great grand daughters.
Mr. And Mrs. Maury had many happy adventures. Highlights included traveling to Kenya, air ballooning from there to Tanzania, exploring King Tutts tomb in Egypt, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge along with sections of the Great Wall of China as well as the usual sights across Europe,Russia and Asia. A cruise around the world on The Queen Elizabeth capped their happy marriage. With a solo trip to Cuba as one of her last great exploits in final years.
