Nancy Gillingham Smith passed away at Quincy Village Skilled Nursing Facility in Waynesboro, PA on December 30, 2022 at the age of 84. Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Nedrow Gillingham and her loving and devoted husband, William A. Smith. She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Joseph) Hepp of Etters, PA and Kathleen (Daniel) McCarthy of Shippensburg, PA, and two granddaughters, Audrey Hepp of Madison, WI, and Rachel Hepp of Chambersburg, PA.

Nancy was raised in Greensburg, PA. She graduated from Greensburg High School, attended the University of Pittsburgh, graduated from California University of Pennsylvania. She resided in Southwest PA before moving to DC/Northern Virginia in 1987, where she and William lived for 20 years before retiring to Shippensburg, PA in 2006.

Nancy loved everything crafty and was an incredibly gifted artist, masterful in several mediums such as quilting, needlework, and bead work, just to name a few. She received several awards for her quilting and needlework. Nancy will be remembered for her intelligence, wit, and creativity. She will be honored privately by her family.
