Nancy was so inviting and inclusive!! I always felt like I was in her family…that included Christmas Caroling, visiting the lake house, coming over for a swim in the pool, or even her birthday cards / texts.
May the memories that mean the most to you live forever in your heart, and may the love and support of family and friends help comfort you at this difficult time...
If you were lucky enough to have Nancy as your sub, you knew the lessons would be taken care of and the kids would actually be happy you were absent: they loved her so and knew she cared about them. A fine teacher and a sweet human being. My deepest condolences to the family. She will be dearly missed.
Sending my sincerest condolences on such a beautiful woman inside and out!  I have missed seeing Nancy in the last year or so!  Sorry to hear this very sad news.  Nancy and I subbed together.

My condolences to David and the Clayton family. Nancy was a truly beautiful person, inside and out. She had the biggest heart and was always willing to help. She called me her angel but in reality she was the angel, always seeing the good in those around her. She touched so many lives and I will always be grateful for the memories I have with her. She is gone but never forgotten and will always be in our hearts. Heaven has gained an angel and she is smiling somewhere as she watches over all of us.
Very sorry to hear about the loss of Nancy. She was a great teacher and inspired many throughout her life. Sending love and prayers to the family.
She always came to my checkouts every  time at jewel  and would ask about my son , one of her students.  May she rest in peace, condolences to her family. Such a great lady.
Nancy and her family have inspired me more than they will ever know.  The loving light they share nurtured my talents and guided me to pursue art. Nancy was always so happy to see me and has always been a momentous part of my artistic journey. I am truly blessed to have been a student under her wing. I hear her encouraging words in my head every time I am painting.  Her legacy is boundless. My deepest sympathies to her dear family and to all who have been touched by this angel.
One of the best teachers I ever had in middle school. Such a lovely person inside and out. She will be missed dearly
She has always had a special place in my heart. She understood me and gave me more challenging projects to work on in class. Sometimes she’d sit with me and we’d draw peacefully, side by side. I always loved how she smelled like coffee. Her heart was pure kindness and her soul was open to everything. When I was in college, we still kept in touch and she tried to get me to take belly dancing classes with her. She was much fun!!! My heart breaks for her family.
My deepest sympathies to her family.  Mrs. Clayton was such a positive energy at school.  I will remember her smile and warmth.
Mrs. Clayton was one the most influential teachers I ever had: she always made me feel worthy, safe, appreciated, and respected. My thoughts are with her family, and may her memory be a blessing.

Nancy loved life. She loved her family--Dave and her two daughters and their children. She loved people--welcoming people into her home and life, especially if they were in a time of need. She loved parties and celebrating and food and good wine. She loved to travel and to learn about things. She kept up on this world of ours. Nancy had a huge soft spot for animals, she loved plants and flowers and art. My love of peonies came from the abundance of them that bloomed in her yard each year--she always promised to save me some when they bloomed. Often she would stay in bed to read books--such an avid reader who loved to talk about books. She was an art teacher and an artist. As a teacher, she designed and worked on the set of the musicals at the junior where we taught together for years. She was quirky and funny and generous and smart and beautiful. She was a friend of the heart.

If you needed something, Nancy was there. How I will miss knowing her spirit is out there on this earth living her best life.

Mrs. Clayton was one of the best teachers I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She believed in me and motivated me to always keep pushing forward. I already miss her so much!
