Nancy was born in Oklahoma, the 2nd youngest of 7. Her father, a cowhand, moved the family to Silver City, NM when she was 10yrs old. Nancy fell in love with the mountains and the Mexicans, whom she found exotic. It was in Silver where she would lose her father and nearly her mother in a car accident at the age of 15. After …
