Nana's obituary

Mrs. Nana Lue Galbreath, 84, of Vidalia, GA, died at The Oaks-Bethany of Vidalia, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Alma, GA, but spent most of her life in Toombs County in the Galbreath Community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Washington Galbreath, one son Richard Galbreath; her parents George Thomas McKinzie and Maggie Mitchell Bratcher McKenzie; and a sister, Charlotte Hayes.

Nan adored her family most of all, but she loved to fish, and was extremely talented in crocheting, knitting, embroidery, and cross-stitch. She loved to cook, watching the Braves, and loved teaching her children how to cook her many favorite recipes. She was a long-time member of New Corinth Baptist Church, where she was a song leader and did various unselfish acts of love and kindness for her church family and devoting herself to the church and the Lord.

Survivors include one son, Tim Galbreath of Vidalia; two daughters, Tina Howell, and Mary Willis and husband Jerry all of Vidalia; one brother Jackie McKenzie and wife Marion of Brunswick; two sisters, Mary Jones and husband Phil, and Virginia O’Sullivan all of Orlando, FL; six grandchildren, Scott Howell and wife Wynette of Odum, Chris Howell of Lyons, Kalli Howell and Jacob Pineo of Crystal River, Florida, Stephanie Foskey and husband Chris of Lyons; Greg Harter and wife Marlee and Sarah Hollaway of Vidalia; fourteen great-grandchildren, Davis, Caleb and Brenna Howell, Cole Morris, Sarah Holloway, Brooklyn Longtin, Jessica, Kadience, Paisleigh and Adaleigh Harter, Athens Boney, Ezra Grant Foskey, Lyla Howell, Kamryn Pineo, and Jemma Foskey; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Robbie Fowler and Jessie Todd officiating. Burial will follow at Galbreath Cemetery in the Sharpespur Community.

The family will receive friends on Thursday morning at the funeral home at the funeral home from 9:30 prior to the service.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to New Corinth Baptist Church, 5315 Lyons-Center Road, Vidalia, GA 30474.
