Nahni Hamby Read, long-time resident of Universal City, Texas was born August 13, 1920 to Eugene Vernon and Linnie Martin Hamby in Rosenberg, Texas. She grew up in Rosenberg and then moved to Brenham, Texas to attend Blinn College. In 1942, she married Marcus B. Read in Houston. Together they raised four children while moving around the world due to Marc’s military service. Eventually, they settled in Universal City, Texas near Randolph AFB, where they …
