Ellen's obituary
Myrtle Ellen Griffith Thompson, 74 of Comfort died February 15, 2019, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
She hated being called Myrtle, she was always called Ellen, that when she passed, that people didn't even realize that it was her, because they didn't know her name was Myrtle, because she refused to be called that.
She was kind, but wouldn't take no crap. She loved to trick and pick you about things. She loved butterflies, and always smelled wonderful. She had incredible hugs.
She was tough and brave, and not afraid to stand up to someone. She was very protective of the people she loved, especially her grandkids.
She was somehow able to fix any material item that broke. Whether that was gluing it exactly the way it was, or sewing something back, she was so freaking awesome and amazing at it.
She was a one of a kind person and the world is a darker and lesser place without her in it.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by Parents: Henderson Peyton and Hattie Irene Goff Griffith and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are:
Daughters: Bonnie Lynn McCallister of Comfort,
Trisha Thompson of Whitesville,
Carleigh Thompson of Comfort, ( who is biologically her granddaughter)
Son: David Thompson of Kittrell, NC,
Grandchildren: Breauna Sierra McCallister and Blake McCallister, and Kelsey Cummings,
Great Granddaughter: Nevaeh Hager
and
