Murray Tyler McGuire, 41, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on January 25, 2026.

Born on October 3, 1984, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Biff and Trixie McGuire, Murray spent his early life as an active and brilliant but angry child. His battle with substance abuse began in his early adolescent years. Murray was later diagnosed with schizophrenia. He spent most of his life self-medicating his symptoms. Murray lived as part of Utah’s unhoused community for a significant part of the past decade.

Murray is survived by his father, Biff (Pamala) McGuire; sister Heather (Jake Allred) McGuire; and brother Kyle McGuire.

He was preceded in death by his mother Trixie Lee Short McGuire.

No memorial services will be held.
