Morris Leo Hendricks(Big Moe) passed away March 6, 2019, in Virginia Beach, VA from complications of lung cancer. Morris was a family man and a retired truck driver. Morris was born in Carlinville, Illinois on October 5, 1945 to Rosemary and Jesse Hendricks. Morris was raised in Gillespie, Illinois where some of his family still reside. Big Moe was a nickname given to him by family and friends. He was a giant with a gentle heart.
Morris is survived by his daughter and son-in-law , Kandy and Lee Drake from Virginia Beach, VA; his son Monte Leo Hendricks of Virginia Beach VA; his son and daughter-in-law Nicholas and Meaghan Hendricks currently residing in Missouri due to Army; son Kristopher Hendricks residing in Illinois; sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Leon Shumacher; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Susan Hendricks; brother and sister-in-law Brian Hendricks and Valerie Jarman-Gosch; Brother and sister-in law Rollie and Grace Hendricks; brother and sister-in-law Kent and Allison Hendricks; brother and sister-in-law Ed and Cynthia Hendricks; Grandchildren, Jeffrey Meier; Jesse Meier; Mary Drake; Natasha Richardson, Alessa Drake; Zackary Drake; Nicholas Hendricks Jr.; Emilee Drake; Jeramy Hendricks; Harrison Hendricks; Jamison Hendricks; Jacob Hendricks, JD Hendricks, Gabriel Hendricks and Olivia Hendricks; Great Grandbabies Charlotte Meier, Brodey Kane Meier, Lucien Richardson, Scarlett Richardson, Emilia Godfrey, Mary Jaylene Raymond, Leviathan Richardson, and Joshua Kane Morris Godfrey. He also has numerous nieces and nephews who have survived him and that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Johnnie Mae Earp Hendricks, his sister Theresa Henderson and his son Joshua Kane Hendricks.
Morris was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
