Monica Marie Benson, of Bethesda, MD, crossed the rainbow bridge on January 14th, 2026 after fighting stage 4 cancer for more than a year and a half. It should be noted that it was not the cancer that sent her on her next great journey. Instead, she was buried beneath an avalanche of yarn intended for use in various knitting projects caused when she opened her craft cabinet.
