Can not find what I wrote earlier. But I wrote this just now:

It startled me seeing those words today - Molly Benjamin. I had to stop everything and remember all of it like a dream with Benjy then realizing it was a year ago that her daughter Molly died. My heart just breaks for the loss of both. I never did get to talk to Molly’s son. Right now I am reeling still thinking I should have done more to help Benjy’s daughter but I really did not know what had been going on she seemed so happy when I last spoke with her. I am flooded with memories of Benjy. I should have tried harder to find Molly when she was not at work the last time I was in Provincetown.

I am stunned seeing Molly’s name. Brings back a lot and how much more we need one another. United on that fishing boat on Heaven’s Sea.

Molly Benjamin, she was bigger than life,  bigger than the whole out-of-doors, especially onboard a ship.  What a towering figure, she deserves to be bigger than death, too, and long to be remembered.  What her friends say about her laugh is no joke.   So infectious, as the photos begin to show.   Her influence showed up in several Cape Cod Radio Mystery Theater programs, shows like 'Five Fathom Rip' and 'The Case of the Calico Lobster'.  In her shop, she used as atmospheric background the sound effect track from 'The Buoy',  ––clanging bells, foghorn and water action––  playing it over and over and over, much to the delight of her patrons who stopped in and much to the maddening irritation of the shop owners stuck on either side of her.  Ah well, so what, it's not like they had to listen to pickleball.   Sleep well, Molly; we'll always miss you.

All of my childhood through high school memories have you in them.  I will never forget your laugh.  It was infectious.  Concerts, beach days, hatches, high school, college, Tips for Tops’n … walking through town signing.  .We had such a great time together always!! You will be dearly missed.  🩷
My first summer in Provincetown, Molly was a little girl. A very special part of the horse barn on W. Vine St. extension. Bright and enthusiastic, she was a wonderful young lady.
You did an amazing job raising Coty he is a really wonderful kind young man. We had fun at the VFW you always made me laugh. I remember when I brought you some chicken soup when you were sick and you laughed because I made sure to bring some pieces of crusty bread as well, going to miss your laugh and your photos, your random text messages too. Give our girl Stacie a big hug for me. Hope to see you girls again one day. rest easy my friend XO

The sad news of Molly’s passing has hit us all very hard. Knowing Molly through her mother Benjy, first as a student in environmental studies here at the University of Vermont, and then these years following. Everyone who knew Benjy also knew Molly.   Benjy’s passing in 2007 was also very  tough. Even now all these years later, not a day goes by when Benjy shows up in some way, a testament to her tenacity for life, working and playing hard, insisting on living an authentic life, and writing some terrific columns on fishing for the Cape Cod Times. Molly grew up in that whirl wind cyclonic full out life force that emanated from Benjy. It wasn’t easy. But Molly was Benjy’s daughter and she was resilient and sensitive and funny.  Molly was a loving and loyal friend to so many, who will miss her dearly. When it comes down to how Molly would want to be remembered, I think it would simply be, that she was good Mom, who fiercely loved her son Coty and would want him to carry on and to always stand proudly on the shoulders of his legendary grandmother and his feisty loving mother.
