Mitchell Wayne Pittman was born on July 6, 1961, to the late Hosea Pittman and Augustine Mingo Pittman. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers (N.L. Pittman, Bobby Ray Mingo (Yvon), O.Z. Pittman, Raviel Pittman (Twernella), David Pittman (Charlene), and Earnest Pittman), and two sisters (Gloria Dean Pittman and Joyce Ford).

Mitchell departed his life on earth on January 29, 2024, at Merit Health Wesley Hospital at 62.

Mitchell joined First Mt. Bethel Church as a child and later joined St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he remained a member until his passing.

Mitchell attended West Marion High School. He was a people person who had never met a stranger. Mitchell (also known as "Chicken") was full of life, love, and laughter. He was a hard worker and worked various jobs throughout his time on earth. His last place of employment was with the city of Marion County before becoming disabled.

Mitchell leaves to cherish his memories a special great-niece, Ty'Rieal Miyanna Pittman, three brothers (Eddie Mingo, Lonnell Pittman, and Rochell Pittman), four sisters (Mae Ella Sims, Cindy Lee, Rose Marie Pittman, and Charity Elaine Pittman), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He will truly be missed by many.
