My birthday is close to the end of the school year. I put the call out for anyone who would like to attend a friendly round of golf. The real surprise was Mitch! I think he had recently finished his Master's and was up for anything social! He was always positive and friendly, and just happy to be there. Pink team brought the energy, and some clever historical poses on the golf course, no doubt, because of Mitch 🩷

I hadn't seen Mitch since high school in the 1990s where we'd both been on the tennis team.  I'd since moved to Austin in 1999 and Mitch pinged me about a visit and we met up for oysters.  Not long after in 2019, Mitch moved to the Austin area and we commiserated on various topics and survival with our shared diagnoses of type I diabetes (me in 1978 at 3, he in his early 20s while in S.F.)  Mitch was getting back on his feet after coming back, so we helped with diabetic supplies and friendship, especially during the pandemic.  These last few years weren't easy, and so glad he was able to spend time with his family.  We'll miss him, and deepest condolences.
