Miriam's obituary

Miriam Fay Davis (1957-2026)

Miriam Fay ‘Mary’ Davis, 68, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026, following complications from open-heart surgery.

Born in Massillon, Ohio on May 10, 1957 to Anna Troyer (nee Chupp) and Christian J. Troyer. Miriam grew up in Hartville, Ohio. After living abroad for a few years after high school, she moved to Austin, Texas in 1980, with her two sons Jason and Christopher.

In Austin, Miriam worked a variety of jobs, ultimately becoming a plant manager for Jack Brown Cleaners in Round Rock in 2000, which ultimately became her longest venture in the workforce.

In 2015, Miriam met her devoted life partner, Samuel Davis III, and they were married in 2016. Together they turned the last decade of her life into a grand adventure. She was able to travel, and got to visit  new places like Florida, Louisiana, Colorado, and even Jamaica.

After being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation in early 2019, she ultimately retired in 2019. Never one to sit still, Miriam went back to work in 2024, where she ran the school cafeteria at the Harmony School of Endeavor. Though the job brought some unexpected physical efforts, she found great emotional fulfillment in putting a smile on the faces of the children. Ultimately, her health problems took over and she stopped working again in 2025.

Miriam is survived by her loving husband of 9 years, Samuel Davis, III.; her sons Jason, Christopher, and daughter-in law Michelle of Round Rock, Texas; stepsons Samuel Davis IV, Jalen Davis, and Lance Davis; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Miriam had a great love for animals and was a proud parent to several dogs and cats during her life. She was also an avid sports fan, always rooting for her Ohio State Buckeyes and San Antonio Spurs.

Her journey was a tough one over the years, but she never stopped pushing forward. Her work ethic and dedication to family resonates within the family she leaves behind. She will be greatly missed, so much more than she could’ve ever imagined.

A service to celebrate Miriam’s life will be shared with family and friends All Faiths Funeral Home in Austin, Texas on Friday, March 27th at 7:30 pm. The funeral home is located at 8507 N Interstate 35 Frontage Rd,  Austin, TX 78753.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests making a donation for Miriam’s final expenses.
