Miranda's obituary

Ms. Miranda River was born in Los Angeles in June 11, 1965, and departed from this world in San Francisco on July 25, 2023. She leaves behind her sister Paula Schenck and her brothers, Aaron Raif and Gilbert Bowman. She was predeceased by her mother, Priscilla Rico-Geffen.

Miranda was a proud alumna of Marlborough High School, from where she graduated in 1983, and went on to earn a degree in Cultural and Social Anthropology from the esteemed Harvard University in 1987. Her youthful spirit was evident in her love for travel to places such as Tel Aviv, Israel; Paris, France; Sydney Australia; and Silver City, New Mexico.

Miranda resided in Palo Alto, CA, working as a research assistant at Stanford University. Later on, she worked in childcare.

Miranda was a woman of diverse interests and hobbies. She relished traveling and spending time soaking in the tranquility of the ocean and the outdoors. A voracious reader, Miranda always had a book in her hand and derived joy from continual learning. Her love for the church was profound, and she found peace and solace in its sacred spaces. Singing was another of her great passions, filling her life with music and joy. Miranda was also keen on research and had a special fondness for the arts. This love for culture and learning stemmed from her early days, where she would fill her home with music from her violin and piano.

Remembered fondly by her loved ones as a woman who laughed heartily at funny stories and sang her heart out at every chance. Miranda enjoyed the company of her friends, and she will be remembered for her love of life and her thirst for knowledge.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being collected for Miranda's funeral expenses at https://everloved.com/life-of….

Miranda's vivacity and spirit will be deeply missed, but her laughter and songs will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
