Minnie's obituary
Minnie Roque, age 56, of San Jose, California, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025. She was born in 1969 and spent her life devoted to her family, her faith, and helping others.
Minnie was known for her extraordinary resilience, her generous spirit, and her unwavering positivity. She overcame many hardships in her early life, yet she chose kindness, joy, and compassion at every turn. To those who knew her, she was a source of strength, warmth, and encouragement.
She spent many years working in retail management, where she mentored and inspired countless people — including her daughter, Crystal, who credits her mother for shaping her own career and work ethic. Minnie loved dancing and fulfilled her childhood dream by taking lessons and competing later in life. Through dance, she met her beloved husband, Jorge, with whom she shared deep love and partnership.
Her faith was central to her life. After finding her spiritual home at Crossroads Church in Fremont, Minnie was baptized and became an active member of the community. She cherished her relationships with Pastor Paul, Karen, and Miss Jeannie, who became like family to her.
Minnie loved to travel, and her experiences — especially a meaningful trip to Jamaica — inspired her to join an anti–human trafficking organization, where she dedicated years to helping others.
Her greatest joy came in becoming a grandmother. She spent the last eight years of her life devoted to her grandchildren, filling their lives with love, support, and unforgettable memories.
Minnie is survived by her mother Mary, her daughter Crystal, her grandchildren, her husband Jorge, and her extended family and church community who loved her deeply.
A celebration of her life will be held on December 27, 2025, at Crossroads Church in Fremont.
She will be remembered for her strength, her faith, her generosity, and the love she poured into everyone around her.
