Minnie's obituary
Minnie Lee Day was born October 3, 1924, to the late
JoeAnna Ellis Day and Dallas Day, Sr., in Orville, Alabama.
She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age.
Minnie Lee Day was united in holy matrimony to the late
Joseph L. Acoff, Sr., and to this union, 14 children were born.
Minnie L. Acoff was a very devoted member of First Baptist
Church Carver, 1300 23rd Street North, Bessemer, AL, where
she sang in the choir until her health began to fail. She worked
all her adult life as a maid and a cook. She was a devoted and
faithful member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and JoeAnna
Day; and siblings, Frank Day, Viola Howard Odom, Isom
Day, Joanna Watkins Stringer, Ola Mae Densmore, Bertha
Samuel Woods, Victoria Scott, Mary Cook, Dallas Day, and
Green Junior Day.
She is survived by: her children, Roberta Adams, Bertha
Acoff, and Abraham Acoff, all of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dallas
Lee Acoff of Bessemer, AL; brother, Vester (Ethel) Day of St.
Louis, MO; sister, Lizzie (Jessie) Conner of Birmingham, AL;
16 grandchildren, Rocshe (Monique) Holt, Dallas R. Acoff,
Eugene Adams, Joseph Adams, Roberta Acoff, Curtis Acoff,
Robert Acoff, Dallas Acoff, Robin Acoff, Kelly Acoff, Paulette
Acoff, April Acoff, Linda Acoff, Adriann, Forest, and Shantel;
and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
