네 사진을 보니 절로 눈물이 나는구나
몇년 전 한국에 왔을 때 보고 소식이 없어 궁굼해하고 있던 차에 슬픈 소식을 듣는구나
내가 호텔에 데려다 주었던 모습이 마지막이었을 줄이야
이제 볼 수 없다 생각하니 더 절실히 보고 싶구나
인생의 황금기인 대학 시절을 오롯이 함께 했던 정말 소중한 친구인데 승준이에 이어 너를 또 보내니 정말 가슴이 아프구나
민규야 나에게 너와 함께 했던 꿈같은 어린 시절의 기억은 소중한 보석이다 비록 너는 먼저 갔지만 다시 만나는 그 날까지 그 보석 가슴 깊이 간직할게 잘 가라

이렇듯 허망하게 선배를 보내야 한다니 정말 미안합니다. 선배는 내가 미국에 정착하고 가장 오랜 시간을 함께 한 분입니다. 벨랩에서의 10년, 그리고 나비타스에서 함께 고생한 10년 세월이 꿈처럼 아득하기만 하네요. 부디 그곳에서는 평안하시고 건강하시길 바랍니다. 더 좋은 세상을 함께 꿈꾸던 젊은 선배에게 무한한 사랑과 존경을 보냅니다.....

잘 가라 민규야. 너의 친구여서 영광이었고 즐거웠다.

지난 열흘간 너을 기억하고 있는 사람들과 너의 자취를 나누었다. 모두들 나처럼 놀랐고, 당황스러웠고 그리고 너를 좋은 기억으로 추억했다. 몇차례 글을 남겼지만, 너의 마지막 가는 길에 한번 더 너를 기억하는 나의 마음을 남긴다.

We are deeply in grief to have our friend Dr. Minkyu Lee pass away so soon in his life and leave the rest of us. Dr. Lee was a good-natured neighbor, fellow Bell Labsian, and a dear colleague of us while we were living in Yardley, PA, between 2005 and 2011.
Dr. Lee and his loving family were always friendly, life-loving, and contributory to mutual cause, including their contribution to the KCCP. We dearly miss him and offer our condolences to the family. Rest in peace, Dr. Lee.

민규야, 벌써 세월이 흘러 우리가 영원한 집으로 가야하는 시간이 이르다니... 누구나 가는 길, 조금 이르지만 편히 쉬시게나.

Minkyu had such energy about him in all things he did. Whatever he puts his mind to it, he would simply do it. We were exchanging an idea of building a putting practice device at one point, before you know it he was ordering parts, putting the program together, and seeking funding for mass manufacturing with a potential investor.
Such a loving father to his two daughters, we rarely spoke without him speaking of them, full of joy and pride.

Rest in Peace, Minkyu.

갑작스런 소식에 동기들 모두 놀람과 슬픔에 잠겼어. 우리에게 늘 큰 미소로 평안함을 주었던 네가 내 친구인게 무척 좋았다. 3주전에 오랫만에 신나게 수다 떨다가, 내 직장문제에 advice 주던게 너무 선명하고 감사하게 떠오른다. 언제가 될지 모르지만, See you soon, my friend.

I’m very much saddened to hear of Dr. Minkyu Lee's sudden death. I knew Dr. Lee’s family when he was a child before we lost contact for many years. I was so happy to see him again in the U.S. and very proud of his contributions he’s made to various communities, especially to KCCP. I’d like to cherish the memory of Dr. Lee by helping establish a memorial scholarship in his honor. I am sure many community members feel the same way and extend their support.

내 하나밖에 없는 오빠,

멀리 떨어져 살았어도, 언제나 우리 가족의 중심이었던 오빠, 늘 좋은 자극과 현명한 조언으로 내게 힘이 되어줬었는데..결국 이제 되돌아보니 그 많은 삶의 무게가 오빠를 힘들게 했었나 하는 생각에 가슴이 미어지네.
새언니와 승연이 지연이를 내 친 언니나 딸처럼 여기고 무슨 일이든 함께 할게.
오빠, 사랑한다고 한번도 말한 적 없었는데...난 늘 오빠 사랑했고 자랑스러워 했어.
부디 하늘나라에서 편히 쉬고 우리 승연이 지연이의 수호천사가 되어 갈 길을 환히 비춰주길 바래.
