Milo's obituary
Milo Apollo Whitney passed peacefully, alongside his mom of almost 10 years, at 9:46 am on June 21 2023 under the care of the amazing Dr. Wittwer at Zion Veterinary Hospital. Milo, unfortunately, had a tumor as well as an illness that made making him comfortable and helping him cross the Rainbow Bridge the most humane and loving option. He was affectionately called “Pretty Boy Milo” and “Milo Bug”.
Milo was adopted on October 10, 2013 and began his legacy of mischief and becoming a master escape artist. Throughout his life, he melted the hearts of everyone around him, whether it was his mom, the people in stores, on hikes, with animal control, or the neighbor across the street who was lucky enough to meet Milo while touring their soon-to-be home. Milo enjoyed playing a remix of “hide and seek” where he would walk in front of the doorbell camera, after getting out of the yard again, and make mom leave work to seek. He was quite a silly and lovable character.
A lover of faux wood blinds, drywall, and couches, Milo had quite a few hobbies. He loved to destroy toys in 3 minutes flat, cuddle, be pet until the end of time, bite at large bodies of water for no reason, and give unlimited amounts of love. In his spare time, Milo entertained himself by farting to clear a room. We still aren’t really sure what toxic fume his farts were made of. Milo’s heart would be yours for the price of 3.7 pets and food.
Milo was the absolute kindest dog and was known to kiss babies and greet his mom at the door every day with so much affection. He would never hurt a fly… only hollow doors and trim. He was gentle with his Ferret brothers and fiercely protective of his human brother. Milo Apollo Whitney will be greatly missed by so many, but none more than his mom. Through thick and thin, she loved him with all her heart and he gave it back 10 fold. He was there with his mother through many moves, new siblings, camp trips, mom's breakups, a new permanent home, and so much more. The love Milo gave didn’t have a number big enough to measure. Life would never have been as amazing without him. Aside from his mother, Milo leaves behind his human brother Karl, His sister Delta, his feline brother Zodiac, his feline sister Galaxy, and Four Ferret brothers; Swirl, Zero, Nubi, and Ares; and many amazing friends throughout the years.
We can never put into words how much he was loved. I tried so hard to give him a good life and I’m so sad I wasn’t able to give him more. Milo deserved his last days spent hiking in a beautiful forest and all I can hope is his afterlife paradise is everything he dreams of and that we will hopefully meet again someday.
