You were so sad and wanted to help the kids at the border. We made plans to go and advocate. This is only a glimpse of the beautiful soul you were. It is you Millie that the world needs so much of. Your compassion, kindness, generosity, and courage. You will always be in my heart and I will keep our promise to help those kids. Farewell my beautiful friend, till we meet again.

We found this amazing tree at a work event and asked a stranger to take out photo but then couldn’t stop laughing. Poor stranger, so patient. This was the best photo he got 😂

My Millie-ion Dollar Babe

Oh my goodness the amount of laughter. And if we were in a meeting... forget about it. All it took was one look at each other and it was done. Justin (boss man, also like a brother hahah) would have to reel us in.

But man, with the laughter came hard work and astounding creativity. She knew how to have a genuinely good time while also getting work done. How? Because she so deeply cared for the youth our organization served.

Millie knew I always wanted to have children. When I bought my CRV, Millie was all giggles saying that I finally got my “mom car” and that I was going to “fill it with kids”.

After suffering a miscarriage last year, I’m finally due with my first child on 1/26. Millie was thrilled. A few weeks before her passing, I was able to catch up with her and also share the name of our future son (which few people know). And I so wish she could be here to meet and hold him in person.

Dear Future Son,

You would have loved our Millie (my Millie-ion Dollar Babe, as I called her).

She would have taught you how important it is to be kind to people, animals, and our Earth.
To be patient.
To laugh.
And laugh again.
To listen.
To REALLY listen.
To learn.
To plant trees.
To be silly no matter your age.
To work hard.
To play hard.
To lean into people who are hurt bc what they need is a friend.
Hugs.
She had such great hugs...

Jesus, give my friend the biggest hug.

We miss you, Millie. My Millie-ion Dollar Babe❤️ We will love you always.
