Personal note from his family

Miles

Miles had a way of seeing people, especially those that others may have overlooked. He had a heart that loved when it was difficult and always fought for what mattered.

He was an encourager and saw the best in people. He was a mentor who brought out the potential in others. He was a faithful friend who was loyal and present.

He had an adventurous spirit and always loved to explore new places. He had a sense of humor that was silly, witty and brought smiles and laughter to so many faces. He had an old soul and a love for things that brought a sense of nostalgia, honoring the past. He had an independent spirit to forge new trails while maintaining a deep sense of commitment to those closest to him.

He was a creator who had ideas percolating at any given moment. He was an artist who brought a fresh lens to the ordinary. He was a writer who spoke worlds unknown into existence and penned the joys and pains of reality.
He was an illustrator who brought to life characters and ideas. He was an intellectual who processed life’s difficult questions and concepts with fluidity. He was a free-thinker who valued independent thought and truth.

He was a devoted father who sacrificially loved without abandon or hesitation. Kaden was his single greatest joy and made any of life’s challenges worth overcoming. He was a firstborn son who was the pride of his parents and loved beyond measure. He was a brother who was admired to the greatest degree, one each sibling emulated in their own way. He was a faithful husband and partner. He was an uncle who cherished his niece and nephews. He was a dear cousin, a beloved grandson, an admired nephew.

He had a gift of mercy that came from the Father’s heart, a soldier spirit that allowed him to press on and a servant’s heart that made him a humble leader. He was welcomed home with a warm embrace and a “well done my good and faithful servant”.
