Our Mom (Mildred Virginia McRae Williams] held a deep faith that, over the years, she practiced in several denominations. She was raised Presbyterian, but joined an Episcopal Church while living in Asheville, NC, and more recently joined Michael and Charlotte Williams’ Baptist church. In Millie’s faith, all were welcome, and music was one of her joys—whether she sang in the choir or listened to her many CDs of spiritual music.

Twenty-five years ago, we scattered some of our Dad’s ashes at Black Balsam Knob in the Shining Rock Wilderness on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, NC. It was Mom’s wish that she join Max Oliver Williams Jr there, on the peaks where they often picked wild blueberries, hiked, and picnicked.
